“Cancled Flight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2011

I was supposed to fly out of Milan, but my early morning flight (Delta) was cancled and they routed me through Rome with a night layover. I was put up at the Satellite Palace Hotel and I found the hotel okay. It was clean and seemed nice. The food was good. I was in early enough to take a train and subway ride to the Colleseum and a little sightseeing. I didn't have to pay for the hotel, so I don't know the costs, but some of the staff was extremely helpful and got me a map to the collesseum. Yeah, I think I had a rude staff member also, but overall I would return.

“No outlets?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

As a previous reviewer said this hotel offers good rates to American airlines whose passengers or employees get stranded and has a free shuttle to the hotel. It is also where several of the airline's crews go when they get to rome to sleep before their trip back. The hotel is near the beach but and also has a free shopping center shuttle during the day until 5:30. It did have a little outdoor balcony but no chairs out there. The hotel does have a small restaurant, but it is mainly for conference goers who have vouchers rather than normal customers who want to stop in for a meal. Didn't get to check out the area around the hotel because there were protesters outside yelling about one of the conferences going on in the hotel that night.

The room quality was very disappointing. It was clean but the walls had a few light stains and were showing some wear. The TV was extremely small. There were NO outlets in the room and one in the bathroom. So i had to do most of my computer work sitting on the toilet. The hotel internet was 16 euros to connect, which is also bad if you are stranded and trying to get information about flights.

“Satellite Hotels Rome - Lido di Ostia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

This hotel is located in nice place antique rome called Lido di Ostia.
Place is famous for the beach and sea food.

Regarding this hotel please avoid it if you can. Rooms are okay but the quality and price is very bad. You pay too much for a hotel that would meet my expectations of a 2 star hotel not a 4 star hotel. Internet is too expensive with a swisscom provider.

Food in the restaurant is okay but do not waste your time and go outside just next to the hotel you can find some great sea food restaurants which are great.

“Stay away from this place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

At some point I thought I was on candid camera. I have never seen any business treat their customers like the staff at this hotel. The only reason they are in business is because they have agreements with airlines. My room was small, had no remote control for the TV, the window could not close properly, mosquitoes were flying around my ear all night. A total nightmare. Stay away from this place.

“Horrible Hotel - With”

The incredibly unfriendly staff and creepy out of date features of this hotel make me think that the only reason they are in business is because airline staff must stay there. This is no Palace and with so many options in Rome, look elsewhere.
