“Great Little Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

people found this review helpful

Cannot fault this hotel. Nice location, good room (with balcony). Pleasant breakfast, and for the most part, excellent staff. While a short distance from town, the bus services are regular and travel by varied routes, all of which are enjoyable viewing. Housekeeping is amongst the best I have experienced in the mid range bracket. My grandson and I frequented the good variation of local restaurants and cafes at night. All in all, this is a an excellent base from which to discover Rome.

“A-MAZE-ING! great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

as a 13-year old, i can say that this was the best hotel experience I've had in a while. After checking into this hotel after a long, excruciating flight from Tehran to Amsterdam, this was soooo much fun. Warning, do not believe Rick Steves. When he says that drinking water from the fountains are okay to drink, i dared my brother to drink it and he stayed at the hotel for 3 days of our 7 day journey. There are bikes in the garage, me and my brother like riding in them. Exceptional service, great roof view and comfty, spacy rooms! this has it all. I bascially knew most of the staff and the area top to bottom. very close to the market and clothing shop, which is not your average hollister! the bus schedule may confuse you a little...... BUT BEWARE THERE'S NO POOL! i personally love to swim so this was a downside for a pacific northwest girl in the hot heat of rome!

Room Tip: no pool beware, dont drink water from public fountains, bring mosquito repallant.

“5 star service at a 3 star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in January with my wife and 18 month old son, mum and sister. The hotel was exceptional in every way.

The rooms were very clean, not to mention cleaned daily by very nice housekeepers. Towels were always fresh, free water in the fridge daily, couldn't have asked for more. If I wanted to be really picky, only thing I could mention is that all the channels on TV were Italian which isn't really great for tourists but who cares :)

Buffet breakfast was good, rooms have balconies which was great and they provided a cot free of charge. The price was also very good.

The highlight of our stay was the people at the front desk. They were extremely helpful on every occasion and very friendly. We did have to catch a taxi to and from the hotel so if you're planning on walking everywhere, this might not be the right hotel for you.

I'd recommend this hotel to anyone :)

“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. Rooms are nicely furnished. Located in a nice & quiet residential area. English-speaking staff. Nice restaurants in the area. Buffet breakfast has a lot of products of average quality. Direct connection with Termini station (bus 38, 90 & 36) & Piazza Barberini (80).
The only negative point would be the room cleaning service : old plastic glasses were left in the room, milk was left in a tea pot for 2 days, they forgot to leave clean towels...

Dear Guest,
I want to thank you for having taken the time to post your kind remarks about your stay.
About the negative points you mention, I hope you have informed immediately the Front office desk, in order to allow the house keeper to intervene.
The change of towels is made following the brand Environment policy, displayed in a green flyer on the lavabo. I think it has been a misunderstanding, because if the towels are not left on the floor, it means you do not want to change them.
Your assessments are essential and will allow us to improve continually our service.
I hope to welcome you again in the future and remain,
Yours sincerely

“Nice Hotel, Good Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

The Hotel is very clean, the staff were very helpful and kind. The room was very clean, so as the bathroom. Both looked "as new". The breakfast was very good, plenty and of a good variety. We even drunk some wine at the bar, and it was a delightful experience.(red wine is served with parmigiano). All in all the hotel in itself is very very nice.

Location : here are the drawbacks.. the hotel is reachable only by bus or car. The subway station (Bolognia) is quite far away. There are several bus stops in the near vicinity ( Corso/Istria for Express Bus 80 to Piazza Venezia (direct); or Nomentana / XX April for Express Bus 90 to Termini). To reach the hotel by cab, we paid to and from Fiumicino 50 EUR/trip. This is quite the same as paing 2*15 eur for the Leonardo express train to termini and then taking some other means of transportation to the Hotel.

Overall, a nice experience. Ps. The Neighbourhood where the hotel is located is very nice, only classy old buildings, superb villas etc. So.. maybe during summer, when there is also more daylight, the travel to/from the hotel to/from Bologna subway station, might be a pleasant walk. (1 km = approx 15 min)

The cab cost you paid is correct to reach the city centre from Fiumicino
