I and 3 friends booked 2 twin rooms for our stay over new year.
We were put on the top floor at opposite corners, even though we had booked the rooms at the same time. was quite a trek from reception, then to our rooms, as the lift doesnt go all the way up.
We found the rooms to be extremely basic and srcuffy - dodgy looking plug sockets, ancient bed-blankets, old carpet, decor & furnishings, selotaped-together-remote control.
The amenities were also pretty poor - there was a kitchenette in our rooms, which only had 2 pans, 2 glasses and 2 expresso cups! No cutlery, kettle, etc etc.
We didnt intend to self-cater, but a cup of tea/coffee in the mornings would of been nice (there is a vending machine on the floor below reception but we only found this on the last day (we werent told about ti) and it only gave out empty cups, for which reception would not refund us as they insisted that there was an out of order sign on the machine, which there wasnt, and that it wasnt theirs thus not their responsibility).
Also, the hot water runs out early in the morning, so when we arrived at 8pm, there was no choice other than o have a cold shower.
Plus the shower head in our room was broken thus you had to hold it.
Location-wise, it is quite far out - 20 minute walk to the nearest metro. There is a taxi rank at the much much nicer hotel next door, and a bus stop, but reception couldnt give us any info on what the bus times were & after a few attempts at waiting for a bus for 20mins plus we ended up just walking. a Taxi to the metro was only 5-7 euros though.
Only plus points was that the bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished, and the heater very quick to heat the room. Although some instructions on how to operate it would of been nice as we spent a rather cold first night.
Overall I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
Definately not 3*, not even 1 in my opinion.
