“Lovely little hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Just got back from staying at this hotel with my partner. The room was lovely and comfortable and very clean. The hotel staff were very polite and helpful and all spoke very good English. The hotel itself was less than a 5 min walk from the main train terminal. The only fault i had with the hotel was that there was nowhere to sit and get a drink when we got back in the evening, there were also no tea or coffee facilities in the room.

“Ideal for a short stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

My wife and IWent to Rome for our 30th anniversary. We caught the Leonardo express from the airport to the centre and hotel Luce is about 200 yards from the station. It is in an ideal location for the Metro or walking. Because it is near the station, it is easy to find. The staff were always helpful, the rooms comfortable and the breakfast is enough to keep you going. There are plenty of restaurants nearby offering reasonably priced menus, I'd recommend the fixed priced menus

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the street (via Magenta) it was surprisingly quite, but nice to watch the...

“A nice central location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

This hotel is situated a stone's throw away from Termini, which is the main train station, the bus terminus and where the Metro lines cross. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, covering all price ranges. The staff on reception are very friendly, speak perfect English, and do their best to sort out queries regarding sightseeing, transport, etc.

The hotel is clean, the furnishings are old fashioned. The wardrobes are weird, incorporated into the headboard. The room (207) was small, with only one chair. The air conditioning was not very efficient, but better than nothing. My husband had a problem finding a news channel in English, but finally managed to find one on our last day.

I'm, surprised at the 4 star rating considering there is a very limited choice for breakfast, which is the only meal they serve. There is only one person to clear the tables, replenish the cold buffet and wash up. She doesn't understand much English. The coffee in the machine is undrinkable, so we stuck to tea.

“4 Star? Hahaha!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011
1
person found this review helpful

Where to start? Stayed 3 Nights (more than enough) Sept 11-13 2011
Twin room with breakfast. Room 209.

The facts:
NOT a 4 Star.....2 at most....and I am not exaggerating.
Rooms are small....real small.
NO NATURAL LIGHT COMING INTO OUR ROOM!!
The staff dont care. Rude and uninterested.
Breakfast is woeful. (Maybe its all like this in Italy)
The elevator fits 3 people in it...WITHOUT luggage.
Old-fashioned.
Wi-fi only in the lobby...for this ''4 star''
No tea/coffee making facilites in room (maybe thats an Italian thing, I dont know)
Loads of Sky channels IF YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ITALIAN!! 2 English channles- Sky & BBC news
Wardrobes are about 3 feet off the ground
Bed and pillows were hard
Shower is tiny; I banged my elbows many times
Most unromantic hotel ever.

Our Stay:
I hope I remember all the details...anyway I'll give it a go...
When we arrived the desk guy was taking a personal call....he continued this personal call for the entire duration of us trying to check-in...no manners, no greeting....asked for our passports...after a couple of mins he just said 'Second floor', gave me the key, and said '10 minutes'....as in 'I will be off the phone in 10 minutes, go to your room and I'll photocopy your passports and you can get them later'. We were not comfotable with the fact our passports were with him, so we waited instead of going to our room while this guy talked and talked, laughed and joked with whomever he was talking to.....he even went outside! Then a hotel maid came, and i asked her. they guy came over and mumbeled something in Italian, obviously pissed off he had to do some work.

OTHER RANDOM EVENTS:
After our early morning flight we needed some rest. So we slept after unpacking. After about 1 hour of sleeping we heard the door unlocking, it woke us up, it was the maid!! She was coming into the room, just as I got to the door!
This HAPPENED AGAIN on our last day! At about 10am!

NEVER NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY HERE.
I do not reccommend it for anything other than location.
