“Terrible, Thievery, Trashy ”

this hotel was terrible, with the exception of beautiful balconys and views. Rooms are miniscule, dirty, uncleaned, and vile. Any room on the ground floor is basically out of luck. My room had a door connecting to the lobby!! For the shower there was just a drain in the ground, no covering or even a botton to the shower, just a drain, rather hole in the floor. lightbulbs in bathroom never worked. be sure to lock your luggage and keep all items inside your luggage when leaving the room for the day. articles of clothing always went missing and astray. If you do decide to stay check under your mattresses and behind all furniture. They hide clothing so you cant find it and then when you leave the hotel the take the clothes because it isn't technically "stealing" persay. DO NOT STAY HERE! service is extremely rude, unapproachable, and unhelpful, and disrespectful. overall terrible hotel that steals!

“What the @&^!”

First day my tour group was there, four people got stuck in the elevator with their carry-ons. My friends and I(5 people) were stuffed into a room with two twin beds, three cots and four pillows. Our shower shared the same floor as our leaky toilet ,which ran all night like a Jerry Lewis tele-thon. The lights in some rooms flicker for minutes on end before stabilizing. (maybe its a European thing, or maybe its a sign of a death trap). My friend was accused of breaking the circa 1964 desktop computer which was riddled with porn and viruses of alll kinds. We shared a room that connected to a community room that had sliding glass doors that didnt lock and was hidden by a curtain on the inside of our room. The only good thing about this place is that if you miss home, there's a McDonald's just next door, right next to the liquor store and gun store. Felt more like the 9th ward in N.O. than Rome. Do yourself a favor, DONT DO IT!! For the money you spend, pitch in another 60 Euros a night and go somewhere much better. I've seen better days in a Motel Six, at least the light will stay on.

“seen worse, but...”

Typical small room - get used to it. Hinges on armoire were broken. Shower curtain smelled. Late at night heard screams in the next room. Through the walls heard voices of 2 women yelling about a big bug on the bed. Breakfast = day old crossants and coffee. After a student tour left, the breakfast added yogurt, juice and fresh rolls and crossants.

“Worst experience ever”

Try to beat this bad experience. My group and I took a tour through the Roman sites one day and returned to our hotel to find that the maids had gone through our luggage and hid one article of clothing from 14 different students. The maids had removed the blouses, skirts, pants, etc. and placed them BEHIND the armoir, under the matress, etc. in hopes of us leaving them behind on our next day's departure. When I confronted the hotel manager/owner, he unapologetically informed me that the maid has two small children to take care of and it was "probably a joke your students are playing on you." Of course, I was shocked.
As far as the hotel is concnerend, the "internet site" was never working. They couldn't seem to manage to give me an extra pillow in my room "NO, only one pillow per room." The pillow was as thick as cardboard.
The rooms were so tiny that I could reach across the room and touch the other side with my feet (granted, I'm 6'3 but it's still no excuse.)
The hotel is nowhere close to any of the major sites. This is totally a hassle when you're tired from seeing the sites for the day and all you want is a little refresher at a hotel before going out again.
Did I mention that my room didn't have air conditioning????

Please, take it from an honest teacher, don't stay in this hotel. If anyone out there has any good suggestions for hotels that can accomodate large groups in Rome, please send me a note.

“Simple but clean”

I really can't agree with all the previous bad reviews. We had a very nice experience here. I do speak Italian, so that may make a difference. We arrived at the airport in Rome and the hotel had booked a driver to come and pick us up. He was there waiting and smiling holding up a card with my name on it. He took us to the hotel and we checked in. The rooms are not huge, but they were clean and quiet. We were a party of three. We had a balcony which faced the garden area on the 1st floor. The room was air conditioned which was great during the heat of last week. The sheets were clean. I asked for extra pillows from Sergio and he had them delivered within 5 minutes. It is not a luxury hotel, but very nice. There is a bus just around the corner that has the end stop in the center of Rome between Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. There is a grocery store, small Mervyns type shop and McDonalds in the small shopping center next door. Across the street is a fantastic local restaurant called Pizzando Grigliando which is not overpriced and has authentic cuisine. Not many tourists here, just the locals which means a lot to us. We prefer to eat where the locals eat. Anyway all in all, a nice stay.
