“Old building, hotel on just a floor!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

The only thing positive that I could think about this hotel is its location. And when Isay location I do not mean that it was nice (not at all) but central as Termini station was 3 min on foot. The "hotel" is on the 4th floor of an old and dated building. The breakfast room is a 5 cm2 dark room. The room is too noisy, but clean and the bathroom is surely spacy. As my room was looking at the backyard of another building, it was too dark and even though it was clean, there was a funny bad smell coming from the toilet. The price for a single room was too high (82 euros) related to the quality. I would never go back at this dark, old, melancolic hotel.

ps: one other positive thing that just came to my mind was the afternoon shift receptionist, he was too kind!

“A great hotel for a small family on a budget.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

My husband and i travelled with our 18mth old. Found this hotel on the internet and was pleased with what we had. As rated the hotel was extremely clean and in a fantastic location 'if' you were wanting to sight see by walk. The Rome train station is literally 7-10min by walk. Bathroom facilities were great also. I would recommend this to a young family with one child...as there are no cot facilities. I have not seen the other rooms but if you email the hotel they are wonderful to answer any questions.
I was however dissapointed with the airconditioning. After a full day of sightseeing in the heat, we arrived to very poor aircon on some days. The air was not consistant however when in room 106 (2 single beds..but tiny) you had an air con system in the room which was fantastic! Breakfast is above average and the staff and manager are extremely helpful. Overall a great hotel for a small family on a budget.

“Excellent Service and Location for a small budget”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

Are you a budget traveller in Rome? Hotel Argentina is the best for you. Hotel is situated just 5 minutes by walking distance to central termini area. The staff are helpful, they welcomes you with a small smile. Then when i entered in my room it was more then i expected: A comfortable bed, a small LCD TV, air conditioner, mini bar and very well furnished bathroom !! In the morning, the breakfast is small but fresh products and good service. This is a small hotel in the middle of Rome. In the evening you can find a lot of trottoria, pizzeria and bars in the streets behind. Viale Nazionale is just 5 to 10 minutes by walking distance. Unique inconveniant is about the room's view; my room was looking on the court so it was doing dark in the room. But: we don't come in Rome to stay in the room and watch the view... I definitelly recommend this hotel for all small budget travellers. You will not get disapointed if you do not expect a 5 stars cathegory. For a 3 stars hotel, they are more than "correct" !!!

“A comfortable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2010

This hotel is so close to the main attractions. The room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and even though I made an effort to speak Italian, they spoke very good English. I would definitely go back.

“Exactly the Hotel you want. You are there for Rome, not the Room.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2010

My husband and I arrived in Rome by train. We were so happy that the hotel was within a 5-10min walk from the Rome Termini. No Taxi, no need to get on the Metro, just an easy walk.
A few people we know have stayed at this hotel at seperate times, friends, grandma, and aunt, and we decided to try it as well. They all had recommeneded the hotel to us.
This hotel is quaint, small, clean, and cozy. The staff are very nice and accomodating, as we checked in at 8pm on a Friday night.
The rooms are small, like many in Europe. Bathroom with shower in room, and hair-dryer. The decor is out of date, but clean and tidy.
The bed was a bit hard, but we didn't have a bad sleep. I did ask staff for an extra pillow, which helped a lot.
The room was warm with a heater just over head.
The price of the room was fantastic! And it was wonderful to pay €60 for a double room pernight. My thing is when travelling is to stay in a cean safe hotel with a good price. I didn't go to Rome for the Hotel, I went to Rome for ROME! To explore, and enjoy what the city has to offer.

There are only 15rooms for this hotel, so you get almost personal service. Becoming familiar with the staff during your time there. Breakfast is in the main area, and includes Italian cornetto, graffa, and other pasteries. Along with cheese and deli meats, bread, jellies, Juice, & Cafe or Cappuccino. Typical European breakfasts in hotels. We enjoyed the pastries every morning.

I would stay at this hotel again. Very easy access to the Metro, Rome Termini, walking distance to many many restaurants, and with a map you can explore a lot of Rome!
