“Great room in a large hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2010

Stayed here for a week as part of a large group with my husband and 20 yr old son. We had a large room with a large queen bed and fold out small double bed. The room was modern and spacious and the marble bathroom was huge. It had a separate toilet and walk in shower with large vanity in between. The room also had a balcony. Breakfast was adequate, especially as they were catering for approx 600 people each day. The hotel was modern and spacious. The location, out of the centre of Rome did not bother us as we went out by bus every day but probably would not stay here if did not have transport. Great hotel for groups.

“A let down”

Calling itself a convention hotel is a stretch. Unhelpful front desk staff. Restaurant does not open on time. Says 7 pm but does not open unitl 7:30 pm maybe. Very poor lighting in the hallways and that too is sensor driven. A/C was shut down and we were sweating in the heat.. Could not provide any iron which I feel is a standard feature in the most of the hotels I have stayed.

“Lovely, but too far from Rome centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

We stayed here when I was attending a conference in Rome city centre (drawn by the pool as we had a toddler in tow). The hotel is fine - our room was lovely (large, airy, clean, modern) , as is the lobbby. But it was way too far out from the centre so we moved hotels (no refund from the Ergife as we'd booked in advance through the conference). The hotel www is misleading in terms of how quickly you can get into the centre. Nearest metro station is 15 mins walk away -- 20 minutes with toddler -- and overall the journey in is at least 40 minutes if you're lucky enough to be going somewhere near a station on that tube line, and up to an hour and a half for anywhere else (our journey in took us 75 minutes). Taxis are quicker but still take at least 20 minutes. They cost about 15 euros into the city centre (more after 10pm).

Irkesome things included the fact that the pools (BOTH toddler and adult) were freezing and shut at 7pm which is crazy.... and that there was no information about the hotel or environs in the room ... we only knew about free internet If you take your own ethernet cable because we'd read another review. Hotel is in a nondescript suburb with not much going on. Worryingly there were virtually no other guests which was rather spooky... Suspect this is fine to stay in if you are Roman and attending a conference locally. Otherwise head for the city centre. We moved to Grand Hotel Palatino which was great (but even on the 'best floor' - which we were on - had paper thin walls).

Breakfast was very nice and served by very friendly staff who provided a high chair for my son whithout me having to ask. The hotel also provided a travel cot for him which was great.

good hotel for conference, meeting etc.
The hotel offers free access to internet but you should have your own cable to connect your laptop with internet.

“Form meets function”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2010

We stayed here for part of the week along with a large, international conference group. About a 25 minute ride from the airport, in a suburban area of Rome. Certainly nothing on the outside grabs you - very 70's slab/drab exterior, with some nice gardens and an Olympic-sized pool, which was not yet open for the season. Too bad, because this hotel, which caters to the conference crowd, could certainly benefit from the installation of some gym facilities. The foyer and multi-level bar/seating area are vast, clean and modern spaces - not unlike an airport terminal. Surely there is enough (wasted) space to accommodate a rec centre, and with the number of conferences going on (at least 3 while I was there), I think the hotel is missing an opportunity to cater to a captive audience. Captive in the sense that one must walk at least 15 minutes to the nearest Metro station to get to the centre of town, or cab it, for something to do. But then again, it is meant to be a functional, efficient conference centre - which it is. Staff is generally helpful and efficient; the meals and service are good; the rooms are spacious enough (though there is no doubt about what goes on in your neighbour's room...). Each room has its own balcony, overlooking - nothing in particular. Conference set up met the standard. The hosted dinner event was excellent, as was the dinner. Overall no real issues or complaints. And yet, this is not where I would want to spend my leisure time. There are some decent restaurants a short walk away, but nothing else in the area to draw one's interest. And one can only spend so much time examining so many leather handbags in the small hotel shop, and wonder how the clerk can smilingly spend 15 hours a day not going mad from nothing to do. Veni, vidi, vici...
