“Excellent staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I stayed here for 4 nights. The staff were the friendliest i have ever come across. The beds are comfortable and the rooms were small but very clean.
Excellent location close to the Metro and a very good price.
The continental breakfast included some cooked food and was very good.
I did not like my original room which was outside the main block and very cold and dark. However, after the first night I was moved with no fuss. I recommend asking for an inside room, although the walls were not soundproofed. I would definitely stay here again.

Don't normally write reviews on hotels but thought i'd make an exception for this one. First off location - Hotel is located outside of central rome but is only a 2 minute walk from the metro that connects it to everything in rome. If you had a hotel in central rome there is a good chance you would still have to take the metro to visit attractions as they are located some distance from each other. The hotel itself is extremely clean and well maintained. The room my girlfriend and I were in was not huge but you don't come to rome to sit in your room. More importantly it had a nice new clean bathroom and was cleaned daily. Breakfast at the hotel was good, typical european breakfast. Had to phone for a few tours and transfers from the hotel and the staff went out of there way for us, nothing was too much trouble.
Save yourself money if you are going to rome, book this hotel it really is a little gem.

“Wonderful Hotel, certainly will go again”

Me and my husband spent 5 nights at this nice hotel for our wedding anniversary, it is very clean and fully renovated, nice breakfast with very friendly staff, the front desk and very cooperative speaking perfect English and serving 24/7 and provided us with very useful information for sight seeing and transportation, it is very easy to reach the hotel by bus and metro and you walk for 2 - 5 minutes to reach the hotel which is away from the crowded and over expensive city center and the nagging sellers in the street and also you get benefit of the nice shops and restaurants around the hotel..beside all these the price per room is very convenient...surely will go back

Room Tip: Choose the rooms in the back or side of the hotel, don't expect a nice view but will get privacy...

“What a wonderful little hotel!”

We just got back from Roma and stayed at the Hotel Aurelius for 11 nights. We had a wonderful time and the Aurelius was the perfect choice for our stay! First of all, the hotel itself is very well maintained, clean and filled with all of the amenities one could ever need. Breakfast was great! Eggs, bacon, cheese, salami, fresh mozzarella, yogurts, cereal, croissants, fruit, breads, etc. plus a coffee/cappuchino/hot chocolate/whatever you want machine. Additionally, the breakfast room is really cute with an arched brick celing. Next, the hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Alessandro at the front desk. Everyone was very warm and accomodating. We had booked a standard, double room and while it was small (typically European), it was very nice, clean and had everything we could ever need. The bathroom was actually a decent size and had a very nice shower. Oh and there's also free Wifi, but you need to get the code from the front desk. Finally, the location was really good. I read a few reviews saying that it is out of the way and inconvenient. I would have to disagree. While admittedly the hotel is not in the very center of Rome, the Metro is literally 2 minutes away around the corner and you can be at the Vatican in 10 minutes or further into the historical center in about 15 minutes. We used the Metro everyday except for Christmas when it shut down early and on that day we actually walked to the city center. Considering the great price and what you get from this hotel, I would think a 10 minute Metro ride is no big deal. The neighborhood of the hotel is in a safe, busy, vibrant area, but we never found it noisy in the hotel. Right around the corner close to the metro stop is a lovely little restaurant called Gustosando that we went to a couple of times. The food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. All in all, I completely recommned this hotel and I think it would be an excellent choice for anyone while visiting Rome.

“Just what you need after a long sightseeing day!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

Few weeks ago I traveled with my husband to Rome and we stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The first impression was very good and it remains the same .The gentlemen in the reception was very polite and friendly. The room we stayed was 308 in the first floor .It was quiet, clean and tidy. A little small but all the necessary fitted in the correct place. The house keeping service changed the towels every day but not the sheets, for the 4 nights they didn’t change them once that was the only negative for me. The breakfast was good and well organized .The location was good .Nearby there was a small mini market, restaurants, fast food, candy shops etc. Something very important is that the metro station was really 2 minutes walking from the hotel entrance.
I highly recommend this hotel for a city break. And I will visit it again in my next trip to Rome.
