This is a very good hotel. Staff is very helpful all the time and even like to talk to you even if you do not speak Italian.
The location is excellent. It is simply aside Saint Peter's Church in the Vatican City. Rome does not have a good subway (it is very dirt and covers only a small fraction of the city), but the hotel is reasonably near subway and train stations. It also has a lot of bus lines that reach all parts of the city nearby. And you can easily go to downtown and historic sites by foot. As Rome is a lovely city to walk around, this matched to our purposes during the visitation.
Rooms a little bit tight. They are really tighter if you book a French bed room. We did know Frech bed was so narrow and we did change to a Junior Suite the second night of our stay. The staff provided us the solution with no problem with a small and reasonable additional charge. Even so, the other room was a little bit tight if you have big cases.
We had a small problem with the water temperature. It oscilated and we had to be a little bit patient until its temperature stabilized. But this was not annoying to such a point of not recommending Paolo VI. It is still a good hotel.
The breakfast is North-American style and is very good. I recommend it.
