“Excellant Service - Awful Location!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2009

We stayed at the hotel for my birthday treat to Rome. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful in all aspects. We had a splendid meal there and were really looked after by a young lady named Lilliana, all in all everyone was happy to help and were very kind and the rooms were a fair size for the price you pay too.

The location was awful, considering it is supposed to be a business district it was very down trodden, and quite scary. We would not consider walking around at night, I wanted to come home in one piece. It was also quite far out from the main attractions thought it was easy enough to get to all the sights, the bus now is the 776 to the metro and a 24 hr ticket for bus and metro costs 4 Euros which we thought was a bargain.

This is not a hotel to choose if you dont want to venture out, but if you are happy to experience Romes public transport then it is a good bargain. There are not many luxuries so dont book for a spa weekend or any pampering sessions it will not happen. The hotel is perfect for a sleep stop and as I said before immaculately clean.

“Truly excellent rooms for the money, the rest sucks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2009

If you are only staying one or two days in Rome keep in mind that it will take you about 45 minutes to get into the city centre by public transport! Take bus 669 to the subway station. Its the last stop so it will than take you 20-25 minutes to get to the Termini where you can switch to the other subway that has the stops at the touristic neigbourhoods.
The hotel is located in a dead boring residential area where you have to walk at least 10 minutes to get to a shop or restaurant.
The poorly maintened hotel does not have ANY emergency lighting as we experienced during a 24 hour power breakdown!
Its situated at a very quiet location. No disturbing sounds at night. The very practically furnished hotelrooms come with a lovely bathroom, and provide enough space. Theres a big fridge, but no watercooker or coffeemachine. Breakfast is so horrible that I haven't eaten during the week I was staying. There wasn't even boiling water!
The airco is very effective but you cannot control it yourself so you have to ask the front desk to set the desired temperature for you.
Staff was unfriendly and does not provide ANY tourist information. The information that I did get from them appeared to be inaccurate.
I noticed during my stay that the hotel is very popular with Chinese tourists.
The lobby and other areas like the breakfast room are very unsociable and is reminiscent of an Eastern Bloc country.
If you're looking for a cozy place to meet with others or want the hotel to be centrally located in a lively neighboorhood: forget this place. If you're looking for a real low budget place where you can retreat to a comfortable hotel room: look no further, this is it!

“Bad part of town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2009

The Eur Suite Hotel was good for our large EF group. The kids had three to a room with room to spare. The hotel was not in a good part of town. When we were there, right across the street was a construction site. Around 6-7 you would start to hear it. It was clean. The service was okay. We had to lock our stuff up. One girl had her passport moved by a housekeeper. We had to tear the room apart looking for it. Not very good on their behave. After that we made SURE that all the kids were using the safes.

“Large Rooms but Watch Your Stuff!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2009

I recently stayed at the Eur Suite hotel on an Ef tour as a teacher group leader and I must say that they provided spacious rooms for our students to stay in. I have traveled to Europe several times and am accustomed to smaller rooms than American and by comparison these were large but basic. The restaurant served decent food and breakfast was sufficient. (meats, cheese, breads, and good cappaccino) One thing that was not good is the location. Once you get to the hotel you can forget leaving it for anything. There is no where to go in the immediate area dn even if there was the area is like walking through the slums of America. Also, when you are in the restaurant eating watch your stuff. Italy is notorious for their pickpockets and theives and this place is not different. One of the adults that was with us had her purse swiped from the back of her chair the 2nd day we were there by two strangers who casullay came to breakfast. Having said this the hotel staff was great and we had no problems as long as we locked everything up and used the room safes. This hotel caters to student groups so dont be surprised to see people and kids roaming around all times of night. The air conditioning works well as long as you dont open the windows and the rooms are clean and fairly comfortable.

“Weird experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2008

It started with the taxi driver exclaiming "They have put a hotel _here_?". It is not the best part of town, I must admit. I recommend taking a taxi at night.

The hotel looks used, but it is clean and everything works. The room/suite was larger than my own apartment, and had working air condition; If the chef is in then the food is excellent.

So the hotel is OK, but the location is not (except that it is quite near HP headquarters).
