“Loved the place and will stay here again!”

I was travelling alone with my little boy and I couldn't have found a safer, kinder place. The double room with attached bath at 40 EUR pp is a great price. Rooms have high ceilings, are spotlessly maintained and spacious compared to pokey Paris, where we were coming from. Breakfast is included and is a lovely spread of fruit, cereal, coffee, croissant. There is a lovely sit out area and cozy TV lounge. The market that everyone pans turned out valuable - found a mobile phone charger adapter - that way I could charge my phone in Europe, as plug points are different elsewhere. There are some fabulous pizza/pasta restaurants at the corner. And yes, the Colosseum is just 15 mins from here.

“GREAT BARGAIN IN ROME, esp for Singles.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

Because my return trip was changed at the last minute, I was left w/ few options for an inexpensive stay in Rome. Then I read about the Y and decided to book. I was very pleasantly surprised. Don't expect any frills, but it is very clean, secure, and well run. Location is very close to Termini, but area seemed very safe at night. If I'm traveling alone in Rome, I would definitely stay here again.

“Nice youth hostel near the train station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

The service is friendly and I had no problems with anyone there. I had to share the shower and a freezer. Breakfast was included.
The room is very high - ideal for hot summer nights - but there is only one window to let the sun in and so it's quite dark inside. You have one washbasin with a mirror and only one power outlet - in the room - for a razor near the mirror.
The bed is mid-comfortable. In the room there are: 1 cupboard, 1 desk, (2 chairs?)
The hostel is located quite near the main-train station and so it's a nice place to go to. In the morning and earlyer lunchtime it's hard to see where it is because in this street there is a hudge market.
From there you can start your trip through rome.

“Good and bad”

Had read reviews. Were good. Place has a street market from Monday to Saturday until 1:00 pm They start to install their places as early as 4:00 am with the respective noise. No TV.

Otherwise, crew is nice and helpful. Near Termini Station and Tour operator Appian Line. Nearby some nice restaurants.

“Better than I expected”

This hostel is a plain and simple, extremely clean and relatively cheap place to stay at Rome. I stayed there out of curiousity. Although a 3 star hotel would definitely be more luxurious, hotels are no cheap at Rome. I would recommend this to people who wanna stay off Termini station. If you do not mind Termini area, Beehive is another good option.

Cons: There is an open market Mon to Sat beside the hostel. Can be a little noisy in the morning. If you can tolerate that it would be great.
