“Charming.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

We loved this little gem. Third floor room has a terrace. Plenty of room for a family of 3 as
we explored Roma. It's accessible to everything. My partner loves jogging in the morning...and was thrilled to walk out the door and run for miles along the Tiber river. AND the staff went the extra mile in returning an item I forgot in the room. We would definitely stay here again...such an antidote to the giant impersonal hotels.

Room Tip: Room 303 has a wonderful terrace.

This is a gem. Everything was done well, the room sizes, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms roomy and CLEAN. This hotel has character and charm. I loved our room with a balcony and the alley street it was on. We felt right at home and loved the location. We walked everywhere. I would recommend this as a wonderful place to stay in beautiful Rome. And the coffee was superb!

Room Tip: Ask to see a few rooms if you want. We saw three different ones before we chose.

“Best of the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We stayed at the Hotel La Rovere for 6 nights in late October. It was fantastic! The location is a short walk to the Vatican and a quick walk over the Tiber River to all the other sites in Rome. We walked to Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, ...etc. The hotel is family owned and we felt like part of the family! They were very helpful with directions, restaurant suggestions and taxi reservations. The hotel is impeccably clean and the rooms are good size. We had a quiet room overlooking the gardens in the back. We will defintely return to Rome and will most definitely stay at this hotel again!

“A quiet, clean family run hotel with gracious hosts and great breakfast.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

We stayed here for a week in mid October before flying home. Georgia, Luigi and Raphaelo were very accommodating and helpful in every way as were all of their staff. It was great to find a QUIET, clean hotel strategically located (between Vatican City and the Trestevere district) with reasonable rates. On our last night, from the balcony on the third floor, we watched a full moon rise over the Chiesi San Giovani dei Fiorentini just across the Tiber River. A final amazing memory from Rome and the Hotel Rovere.

“Best Hotel in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

We go here every time we stay in Rome. It is one of the very few family-owned hotels left and has a cozy feeling. Giorgia and Luigi, the owners, along with their uncle, Lelo, really make you feel like part of the family.

Also, a big plus, they are great with babies. Twice, at breakfast time, "Uncle Lelo" (we adopted him) took our 11-month-old for a stroll and gave us a chance to eat!

Rooms are really nice, some have terraces, and they all have their own unique character. Finally a hotel in Rome that looks like it's in Rome. We send everyone we know here.

Also, we were, again, very impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and the genuinely positive atmosphere and friendly disposition of everyone who works there.

Great location too: five-minute walk from Saint Peter's, close to bus, and not far there is a great Trattoria called Suor'eva.

Would never think of staying anywhere else while in Rome.
