“Clean & Tidy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

Place much have recently been done up as our room was very modern clean & tidy. Think we paid 50 euro for the two of us mid November which was the cheapest we had in Italy. Chose here as close to the termini & because of the roof terrance - which is no longer but hey.

Breakfast was one of the most basic in Italy we had but it did the trick.

Main thing was that the bed was comfortable & the shower was good. Had 24 hour maned reception which felt good for security however wish there had been a safety deposit box in the room as the area is a bit dodgy. Felt more comfortable always turning left out of the hotel instead of right to go anywhere. We walked to almost every site in Rome from here. A Spar is close by to stock up on things & is great not having to go far from the termini with the backpack. Staying 3 nights before international flight home - long enough.

Room Tip: Unsure only saw the room we were in.

“Great place, thankyou”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

I'm surprised at some of the negative comments about this place. For 30 euros a night I got to stay in the heart of Rome, in a lovely little hostel, with nice staff, a great terrace for breakfast and free coffee/tea and pastries. I stayed for three nights in the hotel floor rather than the shared hostel rooms - my room was quite small and warm, but for the price I would certainly not complain, and the bathroom was clean and had a good shower. When I go to Rome again I would certainly choose this place, and would recommend it to anyone on a budget who didnt mind living in a hostel style environment.

“You get what you pay for”

The best things about Fawlty Towers are its location (very close to Roma termini), price and friendly staff. Inside, there is a small kitchen, a balcony, a TV area. Unlike other budget places, this one regular beds instead of bunk beds, which aren’t the most confortable, but certainly will do for the money you pay.

“a budget place so don't expect much”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2010

The location is pretty good (just a few steps from termini) Overall it's poor with facility and the beds were very uncomfy but it's OK to stay one night or so but find another place if you're planning to stay longer.

“It Scared Me...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

I had to sleep one night at Rome, before taking my flight back to Argentina. For me, that was travelling alone, it was a bit strange. For one side, it was good enough, because I only wanted to sleep, and leave the baggage a few hours during the day to go for a walk on Rome. But I have to say it's so awful, dirty, and disordered. I was in a floor were there are the private rooms, and there were bkoken furnitures on the corridors, the walls with water stains, the baskets with towels in the middle of the corridors, the floor was dirty, without windows, without fresh air... I felt I was staying on a garage. And I was alone in all the floor. It scared. For almost 40 euro (single private room, without bathroom) I expected more than a garage... And in the room it was a paper, on the windows, that said: "During the night, please close all the windows". I felt scared.. I don't know what it meant. Nobody explained to me. As I was alone, I would have liked to feel more secure. I don't recommend it. Al least you don't mind paying for sleeping in a garage.
