I fell in love with the hotel and it's staff. Cynthia, the owner makes sure everyone is well taken care of, but to be honest, it would not be necessarym, as her staff are so well trained and friendly, they just make you feel at home.
The location could not be better!

Wanted unique, menorable and comfortable experience for stay in rom and saw very positive reviews and looked lovely in pictures. Got rude ( eg being told if did not like the fact that there was only one soap in room between 2 people - then make a complaint) unhelpful (eg don't know but there's the laptop am sure you can find it if you search), room very noisy from street sounds, small and to be honest uncomfortable for 2 travellers not a couple. Really nothing special at all and definitely not worth the price that was charged. (4 star prices mainly due to location which was ok but not special, and provide 1 to 2 star facilities and service)
If you like cheap, broken, bad quality reproduction fixtures and fittings, blackened walls and am amazingly dangerous staircase ( 2 steps near top need fixithistle this is the place for you.
so this all added up to a uncomfortable experience and complete waste of money, how this place got those positive reviews amazes me!! A mid market tourist rip off

Stayed two nights. Room small and cleaned. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Tv set nice and good selection of channels on offer. Very good breakfast, included in very reasonable rates. Free internet (only in the main hotel hall). Bottles of water at the hotel are not a rip off.
It feels like staying with friends. You enter into a nice Roman old house and then you go up to the second floor ( tiny elevator or 4 flights of stairs). Staff are very nice and very helpful. When you go out, you can feel the heartbeat of Rome. If you turn right you have, after 80 metres, "Ciampini", which I consider among the top bars for snacks and cappuccino. Via condotti e via Frattina are 200 metres away. For the price you pay, you can hardly get a better deal. The only drawback is the limited number of rooms. Only for happy few.

We recently stayed at the Fontanella Borghese for the fourth time in about ten years. Everything that drew us to this hotel in the first place remains the same: great location, comfortable room, helpful staff, friendly owner, a nice breakfast to start the day, all at a reasonable rate.

Our room on this visit was the smallest yet and seemed a little bare of wall decoration, but the bed and room temperature were very comfortable and we weren't bothered by exterior noise even though our window overlooked Vicolo della Torretta. Only one minor housekeeping issue: the desk lightbulb was out and wasn't replaced during our three-night stay, although I mentioned it to the reception staff.

Restaurant recommendations were excellent, especially Il Bacaro specifically suggested by the owner, Cinzia.
