“Always a pleasure to come back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2010

Casa di Lia is our place to stay in Rome for more than 10 years now. We moved to New Zealand and if we come back to Europe, there is always time for a few days in Rome with Lia.
The bed&breakfast has all you need, nice tidy rooms and bathrooms. Self contained kitchen. Close to public transport and only a few minutes from Piazza del Popolo. Lia is a lovely helpful person with fluent English. It feels like coming back home, when we are in Rome. We truly enjoy our stay every time and hopefully will be back soon.

“My home in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2010

Casa di Lia is truly a home in Rome. We have stayed there at least nine times. Lia ia so accommodating and helpful. She speaks English and is a friend now. They have a inhouse menu for guests who wish to eat inhouse. They also provide pickup and return to the airport. The neighborhood is quiet and easily reached by metro. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. I would highly recommend Casa di Lia. www.acasadilia.net or www.acasidilia@atheticom.it

“Lia, the owner, makes you feel at home.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2009

Lia is a very welcoming person, therefore the first impression you will have is a good one.
She runs a simple but confortable bed and breakfast that offers the basics for your staying in Rome. The place is not at the best location, however it is served by a bus line that takes you everywhere at the town.
She offers you a plain breakfast that although may not be ideal if you are a more demanding person, is enough to start the day.
Considering that Rome is a very expensive town, the rates charged are not too high.

I have stayed at A Casa di Lia a few times and each time was terrific. Lia is a very helpful, warm hostess. She was very accommodating to all of our needs. Our room was very clean. Good breakfast included. Very reasonable rates for rooms. Located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, within walking distance to all major sights. I highly recommend this B&B and will stay there on all visits to Italia.

“Going home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2009

I am an American Roman born traveler. Casa di Lia is located in the neighborhood where I grew up. Every couple of years when my husband and I go to Rome, we always stay there. I am very familiar with the neighborhood. But during our last trip, we stayed there with my cousin and her husband and they felt comfortable going to the center without us. The apartment is a short walk to the Via Flaminio tram that goes to Piazza del Popolo where one finds buses and the subway.
Lia's perfect command of English makes my husband feel very comfortable. She is very friendly and helpful. Her suggestions and direction have always been helpful and accurate. The first time I went there, Lia emailed me very detailed instructions of how to get there, what floor the apartment was on, the cost of cabs, and how to identify the gypsy cabs. She is a great hostess. She goes the extra mile. Three years ago our children called her and together they planned a surprise for our wedding anniversary. When we came back from a day of sightseeing we found champagne and flowers in our room.
The building complex is in a little quiet green oasis. No cars are allowed but cats and children roam freely. I often relax sitting on one of the benches reading a book and listening to the family sounds of families coming through the open windows.

If you want to see how the Romans live, this is the perfect neighborhood. As you go to the tram, you see the children going to school, the neighbors walking their dog, mothers doing their shopping, and friends having animated talks. Just outside the complex within a couple of blocks you will find the best gelato store, four restaurants, a Pub, takeout pizza and sushi, various bars, a small supermarket, and a fruit and vegetable store.

Another reason why we love staying there is that because the per night cost is so reasonable that we can afford to stay in Rome for a longer period of time.
