“Fantastic location - very friendly”

I booked this hotel for a group of 10 people (5 couples) from a friend's recommendation. Everyone was really pleased with the choice. The location was fantastic - we could walk everywhere. The rooms were small but faultless. The staff were helpful and friendly, although were not happy to recommend or comment on any but a few select restaurants. They also did not like it when we wanted to use a taxi which had conveniently stopped outside the hotel, but had not been called by them.
For it's location, the hotel offered fantastic value for money. The breakfast was quite good.
The side street was quiet. There was a nice space near the lobby for congregating before going out - even having a pre-dinner drink. We didn't use the courtyard because it was too cold, but it looked pretty. The hotel was happy to store our bags after checking out for several hours before we departed for the airport.
The only real niggle was that the lift was broken. We were told it had just broken and would be fixed the next day, but it remained out of order for all of the 3 days we were there. It was quite a climb up to the rooms - some being 4 or 5 floors up. Maybe this was unusual, but it was lucky we were fit enough to manage.

Room Tip: Our room was on the back of the hotel (room 301) and had a nice view. I suspect it was quieter than...

“The friendly staff make this place”

A modest but pleasant hotel in a quiet street in a central area. Our room, at the back, was quiet, well furnished, warm (important, because it was snowing sometimes) and clean. The room was small, but a friend/colleague was also staying and his room was bigger. Our shower was extremely small (so much so my husband who is slender had trouble picking up the soap when he dropped it) and the shower doors were sticky, but this was really our only complaint. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as my husband and his colleague were doing some business while we were there and the guys on reception facilitated whenever requested, getting taxis, giving advice and even allowing use of their phone for an interview. The back room behind reception has internet reception and we spent a good deal of time there. The staff were happy to turn down the music when asked. Breakfast was fine by Italian standards - a good choice of cereals, pastries, savoury things (eg boiled eggs, bruschetta) and beverages. I would stay again.

Room Tip: It's probably a trade off between a really quiet room at the back that's on the small side a...

“home away from home”

As veteran travellers who have also been involved in the tourism business all over the world, we've always preferred the small hotel, the intimacy of fewer rooms, away from the big, "industrial" hotel.
Hotel Modigliani in Rome not only answered, but exceeded our expectations.
Situated in a central yet quiet small street in old Rome, you can practically walk almost everywhere.
The rooms, we had the wonderful roof suite, view the neighbouring houses and provided the charming atmosphere of those old, beautiful buildings.
Breakfast was delicious and the lounge a quiet and calm place to linger in between touring or after an Italian dinner...
The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Andrea, who made us fell practically at home.

Room Tip: Rooms on the tope floor have wonderful view and balcony

“Heart of Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

I stayed in Hotel Modigliani with my wife, and two children. We chose to occupy their apartment-like part of the hotel. It's across the street and has a small living room with two twin beds, a large private bathroom and a master bedroom. This was recommended instead of staying in two separate hotel rooms. They were open 24hrs so we could leave our giant heavy key with them instead of carrying it around all day. The receptionists were informative about the area, gave wonderful directions, made reservations and recommendations.

They have free WIFI in their lobby area and they were a couple blocks away from the Trevi Fountain, Campo Di Fueri and the Spanish Steps. Piazza Barbarini was the closest square and it had all the resources we needed like a farmacia. Highly highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Look into the apartment across the street for family's of four!

This hotel is as most Rome hotels, quite small but very nice and great value for the rate. we were only there one night before we went on our cruise but I would recommend it. Great location, great shopping and restaurants nearby and very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
