“On the Vatican Museums' doorstep: comfy and homely”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2011

A family-run hotel with great staff. It's position for anyone visiting the Vatican Museums (and isn't everybody...) is unique. You can't get closer. It is not a glitzy hotel but everything is clean and works well. I had a single room and admit it was small but then I was alone. Good window insulation keeps street noises out. The roof terrace breakfast is copious and varies each day. Great cappucinos, of course! The staff were helpful with routes, info and taxis. Buses and metro are nearby, as are restaurants with more realistic prices than those in the ancient heart of Rome. Would I go back? Yes, but I would prefer a double room.

“Hotel Alimandi Tunisi-friendly staff but nothing like a 3 star hotel”

We stayed at Hotel Alimandi Tunisi, not Hotel Alimandi, and only stayed one night moving to another hotel the second night. The room was small and looked like a dorm room. The walls were thin and you could hear water running in the bathroom from other rooms. The quality of the building and furniture seemed very poor and nothing like a 3 star hotel. The staff, however, was excellent and very friendly.

“Whether it is your first or many visits, this hotel makes you really miss Rome”

The hotel Alimandi is like a safe and warm haven in the middle of one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Just steps from the Vatican, this is a warm and neighbor driven nieghborhood. Across the street is wonderful gelato, down on the corner, you will find Guilio's with the best lasagne and any other lunch your heart would desire. There are so many wonderful little restaurants, shopping, and even a grocery, pharmacy and tobacco store. It provides a really Roman experience.
The hotel itself is spotless. The common areas are warm and comfortable, a piano room, television room a small lovely bar and even a private spot downstairs for you to use the computer..The breakfast is the icing on the cake. What a way to start the day on the terrace of the hotel with Francesco, he takes so much pride in his work. Breakfast is plentiful with a great selection, not to mention the best cappucicino that any of us had in Italy. His smile and care fit right in with this family run affair who will go to any length to make their guest happy and comfortable.Last but not least, when you come in after sightseeing, I love to take a glass of wine up on the terrace and look out and soak in the fact that I am in Rome.

“Location great- rooms not so...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2010

Great location and very nice public areas in the hotel. The rooms are a bit worn but comfortable. The breakfast is the best we had in Italy by far. Staff is a bit aloof but would help when pushed.

“Excellent accomodations/directly across from the Vatican Entrance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2010

I am from Cleveland, Ohio. Traveled to Rome to see the Vatican on our way to cruise the Med. for a week. This hotel is very clean and staff was very nice. You get a breakfast with your stay which had a large variety of food to choose from. Small cocktail bar in the facility.
We enjoyed it very much. Very reasonable on the price also.
