“Good value for price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We had a room reserved at Hotel Select Garden but were told we were changed hotel due to some air conditioning problems.
We then walked to Hotel Europa (not too far). We got a very small room with a 1 1/2 bed. Since we found that bed way too small for 2 people for a whole week, we asked to be changed to a room with a bigger bed. We finally got a bigger room with a bigger comfortable bed and a nice bathroom which we found clean and full of toiletries..
The breakfast was very good and we could ask for cappuccino. There was a market every morning just outside our windows where we bought a few things.
The hotel is close to termini where you can take the subway to go across town and the train to go to the airport. We felt safe at night (we were 2 couples) and did a lot of walking all over the place.
I would go back.

Room Tip: If you are 2 people, make sure you ask for a proper size bed.

“A good base for sightseeing”

Spent a fantastic 3 days in Rome based in this clean, quiet and friendly hotel. The room was small but adequate, but you really do only need a room big enough to sleep and shower in as there is so much to do and see in Rome, dont waste it in your hotel! Buffet breakfast was varied and fresh. Friendly and helpful staff, especially where parking is concerned.

“Friendliest staff I've seen in Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

Just came back from staying at this hotel, very short stay, just 2 nights, but I have to say this is probably the friendliest hotel staff I've ever encountered (especially taking into account that Rome is generally not very service-oriented city to say the least...). The room was kinda small and there were some other minor things wrong, but all in all due to helpfulness and niceness of the hotel staff (reception, bar) my stay was extremely nice! If you are looking for a hotel near Termini, I do recommend it.

“Don't believe all the negative reviws”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

Please don’t make an opinion about The Europa Hotel based on some of the negative reviews that have been written on this site.. I don’t know which hotel they were writing the negative reviews about but it was not The Europa Hotel on the Via Varese in Rome.

My wife and I just spent a fantastic 3 days in Rome at the beginning of October 2011 staying at The Europa Hotel. Check in was very smooth and handled by Roberto who was very pleasant and willing to answer all our questions, in fact all the staff members were friendly and helpful, we also thought it was a very professional to see all the cleaning staff wearing uniforms.. Our room was not as big as North American hotels but large enough for us, we are in Europe. The bathroom was beautiful and very clean with lots of towels and a good supply of toiletries.

We were on the first floor at the front of the hotel so we did not have to use the elevator and we normally carry our own bags.. The windows in the room were new so there was no noise from the street. The room had air conditioning and a mini bar you could store a few drinks. I like ice with my drinks all I had to do was ask and within a few minutes I had a bowl of ice. The breakfast room was a big surprise……it was just beautiful and the selection of food was one of the best we had during our 17 day trip. As an added bonus the hotel has unlimited fast internet in the bar area.

The location is great, only 2 short blocks from the Via Marsalla side of the Termini rail station. We felt very safe walking in the area at night, there is a mixture of hotels apartments and restaurants so there was always people walking around. This is a great base location to see the sights of rome with the metro, local buses and hop on hop of buses only a short 2 blocks away.

Please take time to look at my pictures, they will tell the real story.

Thank you Roberto and all the staff at The Europa Hotel, you made our trip to Rome so much more enjoyable. We will be staying here on our next trip to your beautiful city

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room on the front of the hotel.

“The Value is not worth the compromise”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Close to the station..The beds are awful, the service is barely existent. The clerk at the desks says hes alone so you need to bring up your own bags. The A/C does not work. There are no way to keep food or water in the room. No restaurant, no room service and did I mention they are unfriendly. Spend the extra money and stay elsewhere.
