“Not British 4 star but clean and tidy and friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2010

This hotel describes itself as 4 star it is not. However it is clean and tidy and only a 10 minute walk from the main bus and train termini.
The room was clean if a little small with very limited hanging space. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was ok shower could have been bigger found it easier to dry ourselves in the main bedroom.
Ther is a busy road close by which we could hear also a building site next door though it appears to be close to being finished.
The biggest problem was the poor air condition it actually made the room warmer and made for a hot night.Would have been unbearable in the summer.
Other reports mention the lifts. These are small and hold only 4 people you need to be friendly with other lift users. The lifst are tiny...
This hotel is fine for a weekend and we spent very little time at the hotel as there isn't really a bar though you can get a drink in lounge/dinning area
Breakfast is continental though there was plenty to eat.

Eating- we found close by just off the main through road a fantastic pizzeria called Napoli pizzeria get in before 8 as the local romans and their famlies eat at this time it became full quickly and a queue formed outside for tables a good sign we thought. A meal for four with drinks 100 to115 euros. Highly reccomended.

“did not stay due to the smell of raw sewage in the corridor”

booked via the BA website. Thought that the lift was a bit cramped on way up to the 3rd floor. As we got out of the 3rd floor there was the unmistakeable smell of raw sewage. The room we were shown to was tired with stains on the carpet and thin blankets on the bed. We decided not to stay, found alternative accomodation and checked out. this is not a 4 star establishment.

“NOT A FOUR STARS HOTEL AS ADVERTISED, NOT VALUE FOR MONEY”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2010

Last week, I was on leisure trip in Rome and had the worst hotel experience of my life with the 2 nights I spent in Hotel Executive in Rome. The room looked old, tired, all the tapestry on the walls scratched in some areas and dirty, needed absolute refreshing and painting. Furniture was old and needed absolute replacement and there was a terrible and strong smell of sheet, waste both in the room and the hallways. When informed the Front Desk staff, he simply recognized the fact by a sign of his head and did not even express any apology. While I was in the room, I dropped a small bottle of water on the floor which went down the bed. The other day, the bottle was still there. While looking for some information after the check-in, I heard the Receptionist confirming to some guests on the day of their departure that the check-out time was the latest at noon whereas when I went to pay for my bill the next day another Front Desk staff in an aggressive manner underligned the fact that the check-out time was 11:00 o'clock and that that was the practive in all hotels in Rome. This is of course a lie since I spent some nights before in Rome again in a 5 stars hotel of a well-know brand where the check-out time is noon. All in all, I'll never recommend this hotel to anybody. For both it's customer service, condition of the rooms and public areas and way of dealing with a customer, I'll not give more than 2 stars to this hotel.

“BETTER THAN EXPECTED..........AFTER READING REVIEWS.”

Stayed for two nights with my wife as a surprise visit to Rome for her 50th. Friends had booked the hotel for us and after checking out the reviews I was a little worried. However, our room was very clean albeit basic, bed a very good size, bathroom clean and had everything (except shower curtain). The continental breakfast choice was as good as any we have had in Italy and plenty of it. The reception area was clean and tidy.
I would rate the hotel as a good basic tourist/business hotel. No luxurious furnishings and a little off the main tourist attractions. Four star is maybe a little generous. Would recommend to someone who wanted a budget hotel.

“Simply not a four star hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2010
3
people found this review helpful

Hotel executive has none of the hall marks of a four star hotel, other than the price. The rooms are small and very old fashioned without any character. The bed (nearly new mattress) wasn't particularly comfortable. The AC was noisy. The tv was tiny with barely any tuned channels, nothing in English at all. Bathroom was small, clean and nondescript. Next door there is building work with hammering starting at 8 in the morning. Breakfast was a choice of fruit, bad stale pasteries, rubber cheese and wallpaper ham.
Nothing about this place suggested any thing more than a two star hotel. From the early nineties.
