“Avoid like the Plague”

All I can say is "Sweet Mother of God" this hotel was a dump. Apart from there being no AC, a full-size bed with a ratty comforter and a breakfast buffet that comsisted of a hard dinner roll and some jelly. I would have to advise that unless you are an 18 broke college student - do not stay here. Spend a few bucks more on a 4-star hotel - the difference is HUGE.

“Surprised and pleased!”

After reading a few reviews regarding Hotel Giada, I thought that perhaps my stay in Rome would be seriously impacted. I was very pleased to find that Hotel Giada was exactly what I was looking for when I booked it. The 24 hour staff was fine; the room was great despite no air-conditioning; the room and bathroom were clean-big, clean towels daily; the breakfast room was bright and warm with a nice breakfast. The elevator was vintage but memorable. The location, 5 minutes from the Termini and within walking distance to all but Vatican City is perfect. Would recommend.

“Definitely not a 3 star hotel - traveller from Derby England”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2007

We have just returned from our stay in Hotel Giada. Must admit I was dreading it as I had read the reviews on this site. The hotel was extremely basic, there were absolutely no amenities as promised on the website we booked through. The lift was shared with the hotel next door and on one occasion it was impossible to get from our 3rd floor room via the lift, as it was constantly full going down. The rooms although spacious, were extremely shabby and the furniture was old and tatty, the curtain in our room was falling down. However the beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. The bathroom cold tap did not work and when we reported this to the reception clerk he just shrugged his shoulders and said it could not be fixed. This hotel is advertised as 3 stars, I would not give it 1 star, it is in my opinion one level away from being a hostel. The breakfast was extremely paltry and consisted of cornflakes, bread, jam and a pastry. Other comments I have read said that it was a cheap hotel, so you get what you pay for, we paid nearly 95.00 per night- not cheap in my opinion!! The area around the hotel, although not the best, was not as intimidating as we anticipated, and we did not feel threatened, we saw plenty of vagrants in Rome, but not too many around the hotel. The noisy drunken scots staying in the hotel next door were far more intimidating!!!

“A Great cheap hotel in the heart of Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2007

This place was a steal. Clean, right in centro storico (historic center), and CHEAP. Sixty euro a night for a room in the heart of Rome! I'm not sure why this place got bad reviews. I've stayed at much worse in Rome for twice the price. Would book it again in a heartbeat.

“I dont recommend the room 34 !”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2006

Well I do not want to generalize the hotel, and as such, I do not go to say that the hotel is all bad, but the truth, is that the photos of the brochure, had been an illusion.
we were in room 34. I do not recommend this room to nobody ..... The walls were dirty, the room did not have decoration, much less comfort. (if i pay good, i want the minimum)
The WC was clean, however the towels had bad smell , but worse then that it was when the towel of supposedly clean bath, brought of toast a monkey! Yes a monkey!
The breakfast is weak and.....I asked to the lady make a toast and.... the answer was...."Sorry, no "
if you stay there....dont forget to visit the 5º floor to see the pictures in the wall !

I want to believe that the other rooms are well more pleasant, cleaner and comfortable. Unhappyly I do not have nothing to point out of good.

When I saw the website, I didnt wanted to believe that we had been in the same hotel… ! If you dont belive see for your self...
