“as advertised”

Pretty much your average, clean, safe Hotel. We were there off season, because of this the staff was more then willing to work with you if you had any special request. The reason for our trip was to sight-see and therefore didn't spend much time at the hotel, other then to sleep. They were renovating upper floors, construction noise during the day when we stopped in between sights, but not a bother at night. We were on the 1st floor, middle room. Room was clean and neat, some mold on bathroom wall near ceiling (could have been easy to clean, but wasn't), no real complaints. Location was central to pretty much all major sights. We took the bus from the Termini to hotel, but metro is just as easy (just a tad-longer walk from metro stop to hotel vs. bus stop to hotel). Breakfast sweet and simple. No internet in room, wireless in lobby. All in all, we would stay there again.

“A Great Find at a Great Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2009

Siena is under-rated as a three-star hotel. A short walk from the Spanish Steps and the nearby Metro stop. We loved our room. Clean, well-appointed room and bath. Very quiet. Restaurants in the immediate area aren't plush, but we loved the food. The Forum and Coliseum are a short bus ride away, and we took the bus to go there but walked back to the hotel by way of the Trevi Fountain. We only had a couple of days in Rome after a cruise, but Siena's location helped us see many of the local sights while not skrimping on style.

“Rude service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2009

I went to the brekfast hall at the hotel my first morning in Rome. I didn`t know where I should get my tea. I looked around and saw a table with tea cups and tea and went there. A middelaged blond woman who worked there became angry and told me that I couldn`t wait for my tea. I didn`t know that she she should serve the tea. I was just looking around - and didn`t say anything!

The next thing that happen is that a dark woman in her forties who was helping with the breakfast (othertimes she worked in the reseption) also started to shout . She kept saying "what is wrong?", was angry and followed me till my table. The other people who were eating brekfast were looking.

I was completely in shoock about this rude behavior, I was just looking at them and didn`t say anything.

“Disastrous: don't bother with Siena”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2009

This hotel is dreadful. I arrived having requested a quiet room at the back of the hotel, only to be given a room on the first floor at the front, facing the street. 'But don't worry', said the receptionist, 'because cars aren't allowed to use the road.' I told her immediately that I knew that was wrong because I had just driven in front of the hotel in a taxi. 'Ah, but only taxis are allowed to use the road', she replied. 'Oh really?' I said. 'Why, then, were there several cars driving behind my taxi, as well as a motorbike?' She couldn't answer that, but nor could she give me a decent room. Instead I got a dark, narrow, grubby room facing the window, which not only caught all the traffic noises from the street, but also was right underneath the buskers who often stopped immediately below me to sing to the diners below. The bathroom was horrible; it was a very small cupboard into which they'd tried unsuccessfully to fit a WC, washbasin and shower. It simply wasn't possible to use any of these things properly. I have stayed at a number of Rome hotels in my life and none of them were as horrible as this. More importantly, the attitude of the people working in them was not just unhelpful but rude. Go anywhere else but don't bother with this place.

“Rome in February”

Cosy little hotel in excellent location and very friendly staff. Small, clean rooms, our room was inward and absolutely quiet. Breakfast rather good for Italian standard. In walking distance to all the great sights.
