“One of the best in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Being a frequent traveller to Rome, finding a hotel to suit the budget, location and standards. always seem to be a task..but hey presto weve found it!!! The hotel is situated a stones throw from the Morrisons Irish Bar, of which we visit every year for the 6 nations rugby. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and staff very friendly. The terrace and breakfast was excellent, and having an omelette did the trick..

“Not a Value For Money (VFM) hotel”

We stayed at ISA hotel during late January 2012. The location is great, safe, close to the Vatican, 8 minutes walk from the Metro station. The hotel is very small, standard rooms (euro 110 / night) are very small but this is did not bother me. Breakfast was excellent.

THE TV WAS NOT WORKING and took the personnel 2 days to fix it (! i thought this would only happen in Tanzania) because... it was Sunday and they could not call the technician!! However, i did not get a discount for that. Moreover, again in Sunday I requested a personal favor that needed the manager's approval. The personnel denied to call him (since it was Sunday and the manager apparently was busy playing Play Station or whatever...) and let me wait until Monday. Silly things, NO FOCUS ON CUSTOMER.

To summarize, this is a decent place to stay but NOT VALUE FOR MONEY. A price of euro 90 / night would be fair.

“SEWER GAS ODOR!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

I'm actually wildly ambivalent about this hotel. The good: Location, reasonably modern room and bath, very nice terrace for breakfast and cocktails, good breakfast buffet. The bad: Like another reviewer, we could not control the overheating in late December, other than by opening our window 24/7. Worse, there was a sewer-gas smell that the very nice maid finally showed us how to minimize (by placing a bath-mat over the shower drain). She also gave us to understand that the adjacent rooms on our floor, and I gathered on the lower floors, had the same problem. The front desk staff was marginally polite, but not terribly concerned about fixing the problems with heat or odor.
If you consider staying in this hotel, do NOT take rooms ending in 00, 01 or 02! There are some positives; mostly the excellent location.

“Excellent location but inferior service”

Two of us stayed there for NYE holidays, we had a reservation for Exclusive Room and were offered one on the second floor (old, small, with mini-sized bath). We chose one on the fifth floor - excellent room with a nice view and OK jaccuzi, but a broken TV which never got repaired. Receptionists were extremely unhelpful and pretended we did not exist (except when trying to sell us the overpriced NYE event in the hotel).

Room Tip: The Exclusive rooms on the fifth floor are excellent, avoid "exclusive" mini-rooms with mi...

“Looks Great from the outside but....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

A group of 5 of us stayed at the Isa Hotel for one night from November 26 to the 27. The lobby of the hotel has been renovated and the hotel seems to be going through renovations. Unfortunately the rooms are old and the ac/heater have not been updated. When we got to the room it felt like a Sauna, since our friends were on the same floor< i went to see if they could show me how to work the thermostat. Their room was just as hot if not hotter they had their window open and were too tired to go downstatirs to the reception to ask how to work the thermostat. Temp outside was 48 F or about 8C. I decided to let it go and open my window. I did, and since my room faced Via Cicero the noise was incredible, I had to close it, went down to the reception and ask how to turn off or lower the heater. The person at the reception told me to move everything to the left and if that didn't work to move everything to the right....WTF??? Fortunately we had an early flight so we checkout at 6am. Until Isa Hotel has updated their entire system. I'm not going back.

Room Tip: Stay at a different hotel...
