“RUN AWAY ! WORST HOTEL EVER !”

Have booked this hotel through Flight Center but was a huge mistake.Arrived from Paris after 12 hours on train ,got here around 10 pm to find this s..t hole.No power in the room at arrival, hot evening and the size of the room,NO EXAGERATION, a prison cell.

I demanded a better room but I was told is nothing availableu until next day ,Rud staff and non-professional.Amateurs.
Internet never worked only around the Reception area.

If you ever get close to this hotel click BACK button and run.If you are already staying wear garlic at night. It might bit the smell.

“Unbelievably rude and nasty staff, don’t recommend saying there!”

The front desk assistance was HORIBLE ( beside one nice young man ) all the rest of the front desk people where impatient, rude, and just plain mean to us.

The location although somewhat close to the metro station is a slum, in the room the heat was ether not working ( December!!! ) or too hot, you cannot control the AC but have to call front desk! And they are very rude and impatient, the blankets where really old and thin so you needed 4 to warm up and it was too heavy to sleep with. If I knew how bad it would be I would have defiantly paid twice the money and stayed in a much better hotel in the center of Rome

“One hotel but 3 locations - potentially confusing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

I had booked an additional night at the Center Hotel , to follow on after a small group tour booking. On checking in, I was told I had the same room for both nights, then about 10 mins later, I was told I would need to change rooms for the second night, then by that evening, I was told I would need to change to another of the Center hotels around the corner. It was all pretty inconvenient.

The rooms were hot, and you have to ask for the airconditioning (and the TV) to be activated by reception. The locality is grubby and riddled with graffiti, and there's quite a bit of train and tram noise, but otherwise it was OK for a short/cheap stay in Rome.

“Nice staff and clean, but horrible location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

I will start with the positives..... the staff were lovely - spoke great English and gave us directions to get into the centre of town. It was also very clean and we had new towels etc every day. It was about a 15 minute walk to the Colessium, or if you didn't want to walk there was a tube about 5 mins walk which was on metro line A.

Now to the negatives.... Firstly when we arrived we went to Hotel Center 1 and they said that it was the incorrect hotel. They directed us to Hotel Center which was easy to miss as the sign was a bit dilapidated. We had to gain access to the hotel through Hotel Midi next door and we had to get buzzed into Hotel Center.

The room was small and not what we had expected from the photos we had seen in the travel agent. Our room was at the front of the hotel and it was so noisy as the tram drove right past about every 5/10mins (you could feel the building shake0. You could also hear the traffic and people. We didn't sleep that well as we kept getting woken up.

The location was a bit dodgy, however 5 mins down the road towards town it got a lot better. There was a lot of graffiti.

The bathroom wasn't great. It was a wetroom bathroom, however as it was so small, everything in the bathroom got wet and also the into the room so we had to put a towel under the door whilst showering.

Also there was no air-con.

Overall, we didn't pay much for the room so we couldn't expect too much. It is alright if you don't mind something basic.

“nice hotel, good location - would recommend it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2010

the hotel is no more than 10 minutes from termini, (walk left straight out of the station). the hotel was very clean, we had fresh towels etc.. everyday. and the staff were really friendly, they gave us a good map when we checked in and told us the best way to get to the attractions.
its in a good location and the easiest station is Manzoni. on the first night without the map we found the colloseum is only a 15 minute walk straight down the road, and the breakfast was nice in the mornings and just round the corner to the left are some good restaurants.
i think some people who maybe aren't used to walking think it feels alot further away than it is from stations etc.. but my boyfriend and I are in our 20's and found the distance perfect. some of the back streets might be a bit grubby but what city doesnt have them? i would definitely recommend this hotel. the only thing i would say is to take a small mirror with you, as the only one i the room is in the bathroom, which isnt always easy when you're both getting ready to go out!
one tip: go to the vatican for 8am, there are no queues at this time!
