“Not recommended at all”

I booked this hotel through my agent who booked it through a hotel website. I booked for 4 nights but ended up only staying 1 night. The hotel is more like a hostel although I have stayed in better hostels. When I had a shower in the tiny closet bathroom, I came out to find that my bedroom had flooded. When I complained to the reception, they said that this is a common mishap and after much persuasion on my behalf, gave me 3 handtowels to me to attempt to mop up the flood in my bedroom. I was a little bit distressed and wanted to call a friend from my room. The telephone did not allow me to call outside and when I told this to reception, they didn't believe me or offer any alternatives. The last straw was when I was trying to find a socket to charge my cellphone. None of the sockets worked and again, the reception did not believe me or come up to my room to try to help. I quickly got out of that "hotel" and checked into another hotel. I have yet to receive any refund on the 3 nights that I did not stay. I do not recommend staying at this place at all.

It is a very poor hotel. Poor location. Very noisy. Very shabby room (2 stars is a joke). Poor breakfast. Stay away from it.

“Poor Customer Service..”

Just came back from Rome and stayed at Hotel Center 1 for 3 nights. The hotel location is off the tail end of the termini in what could be described as a grimey not too touristy area. Prepare for a 15 minute walk from the station to the front desk of hte hotel. The front desk service here appears to be run by older senior folk who do not know English at all. Although the rooms are clean, the walls are paper thin and noise from outside and from the lobby can flow in easily. Each hallway has motin detectors which turn on the hallway lights and each room has a vent which shines light from the hallways into each room. Therefore if someone comes back to their room at 3am, the hallways will light up and your room will get somw light too. This is not very good if you are trying to adjust to the jetlag and need some sleep. The morning breakfast is very continental, packaged crackers, buns, orange drink (not juice), and coffee.
Bottom line, this is a no frills, you get what you pay for semi hostel type place..Proceed with caution..

“its fine don't worry”

the room was really nice for the price, i stayed in centre three hotel. lovely clean bathroom and room, breakfast was nothing to write home about but it was totally adequate. in all honesty the area wasn't the best but in saying that rome doesn't have a main strip like most cities, so it was fine. i found the metro a little bit far away, but the bus station was really near and the buses i found were better than the metro. so all in all i found the hotel to be fine, and any taxi i hopped in to dropped me home and knew where it was, just to give you an idea of how central or not it is....the tourist maps that are given out of the area, this hotel is just off the map, near the end of termini station.

“Charged for a 1 day check-in / check-out change 9 months in advance”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2005

It is disgraceful that after paying for a booking 9 months in advance (travelling July 2006)a fee is charged for moving the check-in and check-out dates by 1 day with 48 hours of placing the booking and 9 months before travelling. Someone has the use of your money for 9 months yet no flexibility is applied. Be careful when you place online bookings. It is my first and last - former Expedia user.
