“Clean, friendly and close to Termini station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed in January 2012 and booked a triplex room. They had it booked as a double room so they amended it by putting in a fold-out single sofa, it was uncomfortable so the following day they moved us to a triplex room when we requested an alternative bed (the room had only become available that day).

The staff were friendly (though you could wait up to 30 minutes to be served while they were serving another customer as often there was only one person available), the bedroom & bathroom were clean and the only complaint I had was when we first moved into the room my pillows smelt like an ashtray - they were quickly exchanged.

The breakfast was good although unusual with desserts often displayed alongside the cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cold meats, cheese, pastries, eggs, bacon & chipolatas.

A very close walk to Termini station and there is a laundromat two blocks down the road.

As there was a taxi strike on we booked a private vehicle through the hotel to take us to the airport - this was a terrifying experience as the driver was driving 150km p/h with only a car space between us and the car in front. We weren't sure we were going to live to see our flight.

Room Tip: Ask for one not facing the street as the hotel across the road was often very noisy - not sure if th...

“Good mid level hotel near Termini”

My wife and I stayed at this hotel with our little daughter of 18 months for 3 nights. We wanted a hotel close to Termini train station and after staying here, we can definitely recommend this one. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly employee. Over the next few days we met many more staff members and they were all polite and friendly. The breakfast was good. There was plenty of choice and we never had to wait to be seated. Our room was a bit on the small side compared to hotels in other countries but than again I cannot compare to other hotels in Rome. Anyway, the staff still managed to put up a babycot and we were still able t move around so it wasn't too bad. Bathroom was on the small side too but that really didn't bother us. All in all we paid a little less than 300 euros for our whole stay so I would say we got good value for money.

“Theft in my room”

On Sept 24th or 25th. Icame back to my room and the safe was open. 500 euros were missing. We reported it to the hotel and they filled out a form and told me to take it to the police station so they could file a claim with their insurance company. The form was filled out incorectly and no one at the station spoke English. I paid my driver $50.00 to fill out a new form since it was in Italian and I could not do it. The hotel manager told me she would keep me informed and she did not. I emailed her 10 days ago and the woman who handles nsurance at the hotel emailed me and asked me if I left the door to the safe open and I told her no and we could not even relock it with our combination. Wr already told them that when we reported the theft. I next received an email from her with the name of the insurance co. and a claim # and was told to handle it myself. I would not recommend this hotel because of the theft and the way they handled it, sending me to a police station knowing Idid not speak Italian, filling the form out incorrectly ,not returning my money and filing the claim themselves for their loss. That is why they have insurance,

Dear Sir / Madame,
we sincerely regret any inconvenience and disappointment this problem might have caused.
Unfortunately, your file is not so simple to solve and, for this reason, it requires long resolution times.
We assure you that the hotel staff is unable to open the saves before clients' check-out and the insurance company comprehensibly needs more detailed information in order to arrange any possible compensation.

We hope for a promt resolution.
Best Regards

“Great stay”

Having been at this hotel before, we new what to expect. Very close to Termini train station, an easy walk away, even with big bags.
Room is clean as is the bathroom, something very important to us. Don't think you will have a lot of space in the room, as it is small. We are only at the hotel to sleep so doesn't worry us. Staff are very helpful and always had a smile. Breakfast was good.
Recommended hotel especially for the business traveller like us.

“Not really a 4 star!!”

My wife and I stayed over at the Diana for 2 nights and 3.days during our visit to Rome. The reason for.selecting the hotel.was its location, just a few minutes walk from the train terminal so transfer.from train station (travelled from Vennice to Rome by train) was convinent.
I.wa particulary dissapointed with the size of the room. The beds were small and the bathrooms are really small. Plus point was to have a balcony attached to the room, we enjoyed our wine sitting there in the evenings as the.weather.was.really pleasant. There was a problem with the television set but the sne was fixed promptly. Room service was good though had a little problem trying to find some one to understand english on the room service number. The garden restraunt was not functional during our stay, but the same was nicely done.
As of the location, there are mny more hotels in the vicinity to consider. Also note that the Rome International Airport is quite far from the hotel, thankfully we had an early morning floght so reached in time, else in traffic it would have taken hours.
The hotel is quite far from the Trevi fountain, quite.a.walk but u can enjoy going around the city. Taxi will charge about 30 € one.way. The Coloseum was at 15 mins walking distance and there are a lot of restraunts and cafe on either side of the street to try out.
Overall i think i would not want to stay at Diana on my next viit to Rome.
