“Robbed while we were sleeping!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2006

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room had an odor. The day clerk was very rude. We asked for extra towels and never got them. Clerk comment, "We can't drop everything just to help you". Drinking glasses dirty. Breakfast served stale food. Bed was dilapidated. Limited air conditioning. Had to run the water for 20 minutes before it got warm. Red spots on walls. Location is in a questionable area. No deadbolts on the door. During the last night of our stay, someone entered our room between 12:30 and 5:00 in the morning - while we were sleeping! Camera, jewlery, money and purse was stolen. The room next to us was also robbed of their jewelry and money. The police think we were probably drugged, which is why none of us awoke during the robberies. The hotel staff was not helpful. We reported it to the manager before leaving, and none of her staff reported to her that there were robberies or that the police had been there. This hotel is a disaster. Avoid it at all costs. And never stay at a hotel without a deadbolt on your door!

“Average Hotel”

I stayed in this hotel for a week. It was ok. The rooms are quite spacious and clean. The location is a little out of town. But you get what you pay for. The free continental breakfast was superb. Its just a run of the mill hotel. The staff were polite.

“Stay away...Rude Staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2005

I did not researched properly for this hotel. :-( This place is below average for tourists.

How to reach at hotel is confusing. It says 3 min walk. But it is around 3 KM from termini station. Take a taxi or get on metro.

The staff is just is as rude and unhelping either. The rooms are small. Our shower pipe was leaking and flow from shower was almost nothing. We complaint this and the staff told that afterall some water is coming and it is sufficient for the need. In a sense we should manage with that. Also that they were aware of the problems beforehand but not willing to fix that. After some heated discussion they agreed to fix that. We moved for touring the rome. We came back quite late only to find that we still cannot take a bath as it is still not fixed. I talked with the staff and they told me that person at earlier shift did not told him about that. They told me that this will get fixed in the morning. We managed somehow with GLASSES and TAP WATER. Shower was not fixed next day also. Thankfully our stay was over next day.

The lady at the breakfast table was not a person whom you want to meet for your Good Morning. But next day another lady was serving the breakfast who was more polite than earlier one.

I would say if you are planning for stay here, GOOD LUCK & BEST WISHES. Do yourself a favour, Research thoroughly and choose better place. I didn't go through all the reviews at tripadvisor.com. Did I mentioned that place is out of center and coming too late is not a good idea. Taxi driver are always trying to cheat you. Buy a decent map from any book shop at termini and depend on the bus and metro. 3 day pass is very good deal..

Even after this ROME is great city. Don't miss the great city.

“recommended budget hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2005

My wife and i stayed here for two nights in mid July,on arrival the reception staff were very polite and helpful and spoke perfect english. The room was perfectly large enough for both of us,after all you are only going to sleep there, and was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was comparable with most hotel bathrooms we have used over the years and also spotless with no plumbing problems whatever! We walked from the hotel to the Colisseum and the Forum Romano in about twenty minutes, the walk is flat and very easy going (we are both in our mid fifties and reasonably fit) The Vatican is a 10 euro taxi ride away, not a problem for most folks, and there is a very good and reasonably priced restaraunt 5 mins walk away the hotel concierge will supply info on request. All in all an ideal place to stay as long as your expectations are realistic based on the price.

“NIce quiet traditional street, pity about the area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2005

we found the hotel very clean and comfortable, the staff were courteous, the breakfast was plentiful for a 3 star hotel ,hams cheeses fruit croissants bread eggs.jam and plenty of good coffee or tea. The daniela is situated in avery nice quiet traditional street, but as mentioned by other reviewers the surraounding area is a bit run down, We only know of a couple of reastarants in the immediate area but both were very good. The Santa Maria Magiore is about ten minutes walk away and you pass Fussos ice cream palace(heaven) and an excellent restaurant called La Vecchia Conca on Via Carlo ALberta on the way. The metro is five minutes away from the hotel so it is easy to escape the rather scruffy area. If ,like us on city breaks you spend all day sightseeing, only returning to the hotel to sleep then this budget hotel is ok. If you want night life nearbye your hotel this is not the place for you.
