“Decent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2011

The cab drivers from the airport and train stations Obviously have a deal with this hotel. They'll talk you out of going to your scheduled hotel saying that your chosen hotel is in a dangerous neiborhood ect..then haul you over to this hotel where they bring all unsuspecting tourist. You'll pay top dollar for a kinda shabbly room with semi-friendly service. It wasn't the best place to stay but it probably isnt the worst either. Tiny.. Tiny.. Elevator. Keep in mind that, If you weigh more than 150 pounds you will be taking the stairs. Breakfast was pretty decent.

“Don't get conned by the taxi drivers at the station to go to this hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2011

I lived in Italy for a year. I speak Italian. I know about the con artists that roam around the train station in Rome like cockroaches. I had carefully selected another hotel to stay at before I arrived in Rome. The taxi driver took me there only to find out it was not a hotel but a pensione. So he convinced me not to check in and he would take me to a much better place. Sucked in!! He drove me to the Hotel Virgilio; a ride that should have cost a maximum of 10 Euros and told me I had to pay 50 Euros. The hotel was marginal at best. The guys at reception were sleezy. The breakfast service was extremely disappointing and there prices were totally over the top. I would only stay here again if the only other place to spend the night was on a bench at the train station. STAY AWAY!!

“Great customer service and location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

This was a good hotel for a solo traveler. The desk staff were more than helpful when it came to anything. For example, for some reason they overbooked, and did not have a room for me my first night, so they found me a hotel room, and paid for the taxi to the new hotel. The next day, I checked back in, and they had a room all ready for me. Massimo and his group was eager to accomodate to anything I needed.

“Cheating comes easy!”

A taxi took us to one of his "favorite" hotels for only 200 euros a night. The room was small, peeled wallpaper and so so clean. We payed up front (which was the only hotel in our six week European stay that did.) Figuring just a place to sleep, we had them book us a tour (which was expensive and lousy) Didn't receive a wake up call as promised and when we checked out charged us with a 44 minute phone call for 130 euros which we didn't make. (We made one 5 minutes earlies for 3 1/2 euros). The taxi ride to the hotel was 50euros and the next day realized is was a five minute walk from where we picked it up. I think the hotel & taxi service were in cahoots. Do not use this hotel unless you are despertate and check the room before paying. Use earplugs at night.

“fraudulant activity”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

very close to the main areas

They took a pre authorisation on my credit card of 230 euro without my knowledge or consent. but infact it was not a credit card its a debit card which means i may have to wait up to 3 weeks to get my money back. even though i paid in cash on arrival which they were told when booking. when i rang to complain after finding this out. the man on reception was very rude to me.
I,m very angry to think that a hotel can hold money on someones bank account without prior knowledge or agreement which means this is fraudulant activity which i,m still awaiting to get cleared up.
Also having to pay for wifi for e3 for 30 mins was terrible. even then they asked for passport before i got the code which i have never had to do before.
One good thing is the hotels location however that doesn,t make up for the treatment i have since recieved
