“esperienza terribile”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2010

They gave me a really tiny and noisy room; the ceiling was scraping and the closet smelled bad.
The bed was a single one and the bath was really really small. It was probably well cleaned, but was so old and outdated and worn out that it also seemed dirty.
I had to ask four times for a hairdryer, as it was not provided.
Standard breakfast.

“Good location and excellent staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

I stayed here for 3 nights in September. First impressions of the Hotel were that on decor alone this should not be 4-star (although I'm not sure what constitutes 4-star) but we did pay 3-star price for it. Apart from the dated decor I can't fault this hotel. Excellent breakfast and the staff were very helpful. It is within walking distance of the Train Station and close to many other attractions.

Location was perfect - close to Central Station and the bus terminals.
View from balcony looks out to the Basillica Santa Maria - you can hear the bell chimes on the hour!
Room was clean with beautiful decor.
Breakfast had a variety of dishes & the breakfast staff were so polite & respectful and ensured your coffee order was done pronto!
Staff at the front desk were happy to help with any queries.

“If you want to be "homeless in Rome," book this hotel.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2010

My brother booked 2 rooms here in early February for Mid-May. Two days before we were to arrive, while on a cruise ship, we received an e-mail that our reservation had been cancelled. My brother was able to call the hotel from the ship, but they had no rooms. After quite a while on the phone, they suddenly found 2 more rooms, but at a much higher rate. We felt this was totally not acceptable. Fortunately, we were able to get a room at the Hotel Donatello, which was much less expensive and a very nice hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. But I would recommend the Donatello.

“Great location, great breakfast and great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2010

Great hotel, close to the termini (train and subway stations) and not too far of a walk from many of the great sites. The area around the hotel is safe and clean as well, and the staff was helpful as well. The only complaint I could possibly have about our stray was the slight smell that was in the rooms but due to the heatr and humidity the smell would disappear with the AC on higher. If I go back to Rome I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
