We visited Rome September weekend 2010. We got the bus from the airport which wasnt the best idea as the queue was long and is maybe only 25euro in a taxi. We struggled to find the hotel entrance initaially, however, only 5 min walk from Republica Train Station. The hotel is in a great location, loads of restaurants and cafes/bars around. Also transport isnt an issue. We walked to the Spanish Steps and the Collusium (30 mins). We travelled by Metro to see the Vatican although we got off at Spanga to see all the designer shops such as Prada etc. From there we walked to the Vatican (around a 30-40 min walk). The walk was lovely as got to see all the "quirky" cobbled streets and cafes. The receptionist in the hotel is brilliant, she provides you will maps and directions. The rooms are basic but nice. They have a fridge and tv, which works and there is a supermarket to the left of the hotel up the street. We didnt eat breakfast in the hotel. The hotel is locked up around 12-1am, so you must be back although they are good if you say u may be later. The receptionist called us a taxi to the airport at 6.45am when leaving which was great :0) We had a great time and would love to go back. The weather can be quite tempramental thought, one minute is sunny and the next its poring of rain, take a umbrella lol.
