If comparing to an American 4 star hotel, this falls way short. I reserved a Deluxe room but it was more of a standard room. Lacked walking space between the entrance and the bathroom. The bed although a queen size took 90% of the room itself. The hotel provides basic wifi and satellite tv. The wifi was good only because the hotel was not full, but the tv lacked variety as it only provided one English channel (BBC) and the other 9 channels were either in Italian or French. The movie channel however offered the movies in English but you'd have to watch at around 2 or 4 am to do so. Breakfast was average a typical cold cut sandwich and fruits were offered in the basement where the dinning room is located. The only positive thing I have to say is that it is conveniently located down the street from the Termini Station which made it worth the effort. Line A will take you to most of the sites most commonly sought after and the Line B (blue line) will take you to the other 2 spots. The train station also provides a train to the airport, however, the hotel provides a shuttle service to the airport if you stay a total of 3 days or more. But you must ensure to have that included when you make your reservation.

We stayed for a few days in September 2011. The room was beautiful, clean, had free wireless internet, and a nice little private courtyard right outside our door. The frontdesk staff were very helpful and spoke English. The location is extremely convenient as the street its on leads right up to the main Termini railway station - just a short few minutes walk. You can catch trains around Rome or even around Italy right from this station! We caught the train to Florence from here, and being close to the station made the transfers really easy.

I was initially unsure about booking here as I'd read reviews of other hotels close to the Termini station saying it's a bad area. That's true on the OTHER side of the station. Not this side. We arrived at 11pm and its a busy, safe area to walk the few hundred meters to the Hotel.

Overall - its a comfortable, charming hotel with a fantastic location and great service. Can't fault it at all.

On my second trip to Rome I stayed here. Situated 2minutes walk from Stazione Termini, it was perfect for us. I went with three other friends. We, at the time, were all 18. We didn't go to Rome for the nightclubs or anything like that, we went for a good time and this place fitted the bill perfectly. We booked off lastminute.com and got a great deal to start off with. When we arrived the cheerful receptionist welcomed us and began to check us in and invited us to sit down and relax. As she completed the process, she called me over and informed me that she was upgrading us, FREE OF CHARGE to a delux quadruple room instead of our standard room.

When we went in the room, it was perfect. Enough room for what we wanted, comfortable beds and everything clean. The only let down was the fact that the jacuzzi didn't work but, we could deal with that very easily!!

We went out every night in Rome and found ti very easy to get a taxi back to Termini and walk up Via Marghera. We were usually home around 12 which was fine and walked straight in. One night we came home about 2am after meeting and talking to two local Romans. When we got back to the hotel, we found that the main gate had been locked. However we simply rang the buzzer and the receptionist came out, smiling again, to let us in and wished a good nights sleep.

The staff were all very polite and went out of their way to make us happy on a number of occasions. I will definitely be going back to this hotel.

ON A SIDE NOTE. ANYONE GOING TO ROME SOON, BE SURE TO GO TO THE "MERULANA CAFE" FOR A MEAL AND DRINK. THE HOST, CLAUDIO, IS A VERY NICE MAN AND AGAIN, MADE US FEEL VERY WELCOME. THE MERULANA IS SITUATED AT THE TOP OF VIA MERULANA IS FAIRLY CHEAP TO GET TO BY TAXI AND THE BUS GOES STRAIGHT PASS AS WELL!

This was my first stay at this small, clean and friendly hotel. The hotel is approximately 25 mins walk from the tourist spots and 5 minutes from the Termini. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job every day. We had the room 216, our room was twinbedded with Free internet. The only thing is the lift is small - but that's not unusual for European hotels. I must say a sincere thank you to the Reception Desk staff! Each one of them went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. If you are passing through Rome, I recommend this place!
