“Nice Hotel in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Our first trip to Rome was amazing, everything was new and interesting. Our opinion about the hotel can be subjective but let us to say few words. The location of Bolivar is perfect, the breakfast was good especially with the awesome overlooking on the terrace. The room was small but for us it was not so bad, we stayed there only in the nights because we were spending our time walking, making pics, eating great Italian food, enjoying the town. The personal of the hotel was nice. By the way Angelo was the one of the positive impressions of our trip, friendly, very helpful in answering questions, we appreciated his advises about Rome. The warm reception that we got would certainly make us stay at this hotel again.

“Friendly place to stay very near to downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Many times Tripadvisor was a competent advisor for me, but I’m so lazy traveler to write here…ou! Now in frosty Moscow days I remember my warm trip to Italy in deep autumn days 2011. Travelling with friend, we spend only 2 days in capital city, but after all we know the next objective for our holidays – Roma! And his exciting places, «diving» to history, friendly and communicative natives.
As a place to stay we chosen hotel Bolivar that situated on the walking distance to main interesting sites of downtown. Maybe one inconvenient detail – hotel stands in the hill, but at least does not make trouble for active travelers. We were accommodate in double room – not a big, but cozy enough and optimally styled. As we observed on our Italian trip, size of rooms are mostly optimal for overnight only, not to live, but we prefer walk and visit places, don’t stay over the roof )) We really thanks to friendly personal of Bolivar, receptionist Angelo was really our «travel angel» for short stay in Rome – we’ve got many useful advices about good restaurants in the near, transport access, and good bookstore because we need to find Italian fairytales book for my collection. We did not use wi fi on the hotel, so, can’t say about connection, but booked number with breakfast and were quite satisfied, even prefer more various breakfast (or maybe we are very picky after heavy breakfasts in Austria, where we’ve been before Italy). Actually, now we want return for more detailed «research» of Rome and we’ll choose same Bolivar, as known for us and pleasant hotel.

“Highly recommend”

We just spent three nights in Hotel Bolivar, Rome and I - we all - can highly recommend this hotel!!
We booked the rooms directly on the internet and got a nice reduction as early bookings - the offer was very good - and I recommend to have a look on the offers -site.
As we needed two rooms for 3 adults and 1 child /teenager, we got the rooms close to each other on the first floor. This was really great and helpful for us.
The rooms are really nice: renovated, confortable and clean. We had nicely space in the room.
The staff is very kind and helpfull around the day, it does not depend who is on duty.
We used the lobby bar and it was a nice surprise that the prices are low. Normally you have quite high prices on the lobby bar - but not in this hotel.
The hotel has a great location - close to all the important places like Fontana di Trevi, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Not to mention all the shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.

I will book this hotel when visiting Rome next time - and I have visited other hotels in Rome as well.

“Traditional facility and service in this Central City Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Hidden in a back-street, like all gems should be, some of the surrounding atmosphere may be odorous but that's how it is in traditional authentic locations.

Management full of enthusiasm and assistance, all the sights and sounds nearby or pleasant walks, no bother getting transport when needed.

And a spectacular breakfast on the roof-terrace.

“Great Service, Great Location, but NOISY”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We stayed for three nights in October. The location is ideal. An easy to find place by bus from the train station. You can walk, or take the bus to anywhere in Rome from this prime location. The Hotel itself is located in an alley, so the noise is not coming from outside the hotel, but rather the inside. We stayed on the main floor, which proved to be extremely noisy. If you are looking for a good night's sleep, this is not the place to stay. Fortunately, we spent very little time in the hotel itself. The lobby is charming. The breakfast so-so in an elegant roof-top room - absolutely beautiful. the rooms are small - of course, it is Europe. The staff was extremely accommodating. The noise factor though - yiikes. We would stay again, request another room - for Rome, the price was reasonable, and again, easy to find, ideal location, and great staff.

Room Tip: Request quiet room - if there is such a thing.
