“A terribly dated hotel with poor facilities but friendly staff and low cost”

I was in Rome on a business trip. Location wasn't criticla for me but make no mistake this hotel is poorly located. However the main issue is that the hotel is old, dated and has terrible facilities. There were 100 of us at the conference and people either had baking hot rooms (like mine) or freezig cold rooms. The decor is very old, water pressure and temperature for the showers were also very low. Breakfast was one of the worst I have had i a major chain hotel and was disappointing since usually this is one area of a hotel experience that can be relied upon. Checkout experience was also very very slow. It was however nice to see a dot atrix printer in action. I genuinely don't remember when I last saw one of those!!! That printer kind of sums up the general hotel experience. Once upon a time it would have been great, nowadays it is just archaic. On the plus side the internet was good albeit very expensive at EUR15/day.

“All roads lead to Rome”

I can not understand why people complain that the staff speaks poor English, people forget that they are in Italy and here speaks Italian, and there are some who understand just a little English so you should be happy. Some people complain over there is far from downtown, if you can book a hotel room and you can go on the internet, one can see where the hotel is in relation to everything, my wife and I booked the room at the hotel and look forward both when we go to Rome for 5 time on 9 years. We buy a ticket for public buses that will last for a week for 16 ½ € so we can run everything we want. The mood comes after all of that is different than where you come from, if one requires that all service should be like home, then stay home.

I stayed 2 times in this hotel.from the outside it looks old but the rooms are renovated.
You can enjoy the rich buffet whether for breakfast or for lunch.
U have to take a taxi to go wherever you need to go.

Dear SolTabet,
Thank you for taking the time to share with us your feedback on your recent stay and to have chosen again our Crowne Plaza Rome St. Peter’s!
We appreciate the fact that you enjoyed our rich buffet and that you loved our renovated rooms.
Regarding the location, allow me to explain that taxi (taxi station availabe in our car park) is not the only way to explore Rome. The Hotel offers a regular courtesy bus, greatly appreciated from all our guest staying with us. The bus runs on a regular basis to St. Peter's Basilica in the morning and to the heart of the city center (Venice square) in the afternoon and evening. Moreover 2 different public busses are available just at the doorstep of the hotel (only at 1 euro cost to reach downtown which is only 5 km far from our Hotel), or reach the nearest metro station and in 20 minutes discover all the main attractions in the heart of Rome. We look forward to welcoming you again at the Crowne Plaza Rome-St. Peter's. Best regards, Davide Grilli, General Manager

“comfortable hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

This hotel offers large, comfortable, and quiet rooms at an attractive price, making it a good choice for customers who value such criteria. On the other hand, it is located in the suburbs of Rome, definitely not within walking distance of any sights; the public bus stopping outside the hotel is cheap and frequent enough, though.
My room, quite standard according to the floor plan, was spacious indeed for an European city hotel, but without much character. The only standout aspect was the abundant supply of towels. We were not upgraded despite being Priority Club Platinum, unusual for a Crowne Plaza, which usually do this automatically.
We were traveling by car on this trip, for which the large free parking lot and easy access to highways made this hotel a convenient choice.
I can strongly recommend the Italian restaurant next door up the street towards Rome, which offers great food and genuine hospitality (something the hotel's jaded staff could learn from).

“Crown Plaza St Peter's Rome”

Fabulous hotel, spacious rooms, excellent facilities. Had adjoining rooms overlooking stunning outdoor pool (open in summer). Spacious rooms with fridge and tea making facilities. Nice products in well organised bathroom. Two restaurants one serving more formal meals and a huge selection of both hot and cold breakfast buffet and the other a more casual affair with a great buffet menu offer. Lovely bar area to relax in in evening, spacious foyer and beautifull quality spa with indoor pool. Staff could not do more to help and despite being a large hotel made the whole thing very homely and friendly. A little out of the centre, but regular, free shuttle into town and quite nice to be in a peacefull area to chill out in. Great park nearby for walks. Love it, will definately stay again

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking pool, great relaxing view with the cypruss trees in the background.
