“Nice Hotel, Useless Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

As a woman traveling alone I was looking for a place that was centrally located in an area that was well populated all times of the day and night. This was the perfect place. It felt like I wasn't walking more than 10 minutes in any direction before I was at one major site or another. They have the most comfortable beds and best bathrooms I've ever seen at a European hotel and the little outdoor patio was a great place to unwind at the early evening before heading back out for the night. The only complaint I have is the front desk staff was not at all helpful. I wanted help getting to Tivoli without joining a tour group and they couldn't tell me anything they all kept telling me they didn't know. They wouldn't even tell me what restaurants in the area were good. This would bring down my number of "stars" if I wasn't someone who could figure things out on my own. So if you're looking for a place that is only 2 seconds from the Trevi Fountain and 15 minutes from the Forum and 10 minutes to the spanish steps with comfortable beds and nice rooms this is the place for you, just come prepared not to get any help from the front desk.

“Great Location, Would Stay Again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed here for 4 nights in January in a Triple Room. This is the only real negative I can say about the hotel, the 3rd bed was the couch just turned into a bed, i.e. cushions taken off and sheets put on. I did try to contact the hotel via email, regarding whether the 3rd bed was an actual bed or a sofabed/campbed but never received a reply. Regardless though I booked the hotel, and the 3rd bed was fine to sleep on. But I would stay here again, the rooms are small but that wasn’t a hassle for us, they were clean, no marks or wear and tear we could see. The bathroom was nice; the room has SkyTV which we didn’t use much, if at all as it was mainly in Italian.

The hotel offers a free buffet breakfast for its guests, which was enough to keep you going until lunch, they offered hot items such as bacons and eggs [hard boiled and scrambled], toast. As well as cereal, pastries, fruits, bread, cheese and hams, and hot and cold drinks [coffees, tea, juices, milk and water].

The hotel isn’t really up to date Internet-wise; you have to pay for the internet. You can either use it plugged it in your rooms, or wifi in the lobby for a fee. It was €5 for 1hr, there is no wifi in the rooms. We spend most evenings in the hotel bar, after having dinner and people watching by the Trevi Fountain, which is literally around the corner from the hotel. The evening bartender is great, he makes strong drinks! The location is great, you’re not far from as said the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and other sights too.

Highly Recommend Hotel Delle Nazioni.

“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Terrific location and very nice room. The shower is tiny but hey, it's Europe, be happy with a bathroom in the room. Breakfast was lovely each morning.

“Great Location, great rooms, only a few minor things...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

First off, this hotel is a very good choice for staying in a central location in rome.
we've booked this hotel after looking through dozens of others and with location being the most important aspect this hotel is excellent - literaly seconds from Trevi fountain - we found ourselves finishing each day and starting every morning with a small visit to the fountain...

now down to business...
Pros:
- LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION - Excellent location right near Trevi fountain, easy walking distance to spanish steps, piazza venezia, pantheon and piazza navona.
- excellent rooms - we booked a superiour room and a single room - both were adequatley sized and with a nice balcony (not much of a view even though on the top floor). rooms seem well maintained and recentley refurbished with LCD TV and a mini-bar.
- price - at the price we booked this is one of the more reasonably priced hotels in that area.

cons: (these seem a bit small or petty but sometimes it's the little things that you really need and make the difference between good and great...)

- breakfast - although breakfast was quite good it was not the "feast" some revieweres claimed - only one hot dish, only couple of cheeses, only one type of bread etc. you won't go hungry but it's a bit basic...

-rooms: bed - the bed was quite hard, not prevented us from sleeping but simply not comfortable...
-rooms: coffee/tea facility - even though it's not included in the room description we wrongly assumed that there would be such facilities in the room. the lack of such basic facilities is not critical but again impacts the feel of a "great" room/hotel.
bathroom: Shampoo was dreadful. now if I would have read this in a review i'd probably laugh but having only one kind of shampoo/soap which literally makes you feel less clean you start to get a little annoyed. we even considered going out and buying a new shampoo...
internet service: again not something we picked up from the description when booking but there's no WIFI available in the rooms, only in the lobby for additional charge. in addition there's no internet station available at all - only at additional charge. this seems minor but it's really below standards as any decent hotel offers either free wifi or free internet station at the lobby.

Service - service was mediocore - even though they booked tickets for us which helped a lot, service was usually without a smile and no help was offered when we asked for map, directions, recommendations etc. late check-out was priced at 100 euros which is also a bit too much (basically a night rate).

All in all this is a very good hotel with only minor flaws which can be overcome or overlooked but if they'll be fixed it'll be a truly amazing place...

Tips:
The gallery Cafe across the street has excellent cappuchino and offers free wifi - great place to start/end your day.
the store right next to trevi fountain has really good prices when compared to other places nearby - great place to buy drinks, snacks and light food at the start/end of the day.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have a nice balcony and view, no problem with street noise.

“A wonderful experience and great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

My husband, daughter and I went to Roe over the Christmas holidays. This was our first experience and chose this hotel from numerous options our travel agent gave us. She had not stayed here and we chose it due to the hotel location, resturant and bar. Well, we could not have been any happier! On coming into the hotel we were greeted by Salvatore. What a wonderful gentleman and he was so helpful throughout our stay! We had arrived early and were awaiting our daughter's arrival. Our room was not ready but Gusseppi took our luggage and directed us to where we could change our clothes. We then went into the bar for coffee. Everyone was so nice and helpful. And the Trevi Fountain was only steps away from the hotel! After sightseeing, we came back to the Hotel and Salvatore not only gave us wonderful rooms but helped get reservations for both Christmas Eve and Christmas night. Our rooms were of medium size (actually quite large for Europe) and very comfortable. (The bed was more hard than in the states but still comfortable). Opening our windows and shutters we had a very busy street but loved it! It felt like Rome! Next door was a lovely little church wherewe heard church bells and singing on Christmas Eve.

Breakfast was good and plenty. The only slight negative as it was the same everyday but still very good. There was pannetone on Christmas Day! Everyone was polite and extremely helpful. Salvatorre was my absolute favoirite and I loved him! He alays had such a sparkle!

We would definitely stay here again! It was so close to so many sights and a short cab ride back when our feet were tied from walking! Thanks to the staff for helping to make our Chistmas such a memorable experience!

Room Tip: Just minues from many attractions. Also close was our favorite resturant "Il Presidente" w...
