“Large rooms.”

Nice hotel. Did not have any problems with the front-desk staff as indicated by other reviewers. Staff was helpful and courteous. Hotel is about a 15 Euro cab ride from most of the tourist attractions in the city. Restaurant for breakfast was pricey but very good. As indicated in other reviews there is a grocery store across the street from the train station, down a driveway to the left of the bank. We went to the "locals" tavern that the front desk recommends one night, the food was good and reasonably priced. They charge for wireless internet unless you are a Marriott gold or platinum member. We used the shuttle several times, at 3 Euros per person each way it was a good deal. The front desk has a free map with all of the attractions listed that is far more useful than the maps in the guide books that we purchased. We enjoyed good weather between Christmas and New Year's so we walked almost everywhere. If you are very comfortable with public transportation the subway/train system is fair. Do not expect the Washington DC Metro or the London Underground. The stations are filthy, the signage is not the best and the subway stops near tourist destinations have their share of pickpockets. The rooms at this hotel are huge by European standards. We tried the snacks at the bar, not great but seriously...it's bar food. Would stay again despite the distance from downtown.

“Good rooms, nice view, terrible customer service and incontinent location”

They were 4 hours late checking us in! We waited in the lobby for 2 hours! People were rude and unwilling to help, in spite of the fact my husband speaks Italian. Not close to tourist spots or the airport, not far from the subway which is easy to use.

Room Tip: Get a high room for the view of the Vatican.

“Hotel Was Perfect”

My husband and i along with our moms stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and it was excellent. A couple blocks to the subway station so you had the option of spending 1 Euro for the ride per person into Rome, or take the hotel shuttle for 3 Euro per person. We did both.... Rooms were great and the staff was very helpful. We would definitely recommend the hotel and stay here again.

“Ok for short stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

This is right behind the train station but if you go at night, it looks a bit shady. The hotel was average, check-in was fast. I'm a platinum Marriott member but they don't give you free breakfast or anything free other than wireless internet free and that's only for 1 device! If you want to use their computers in the lobby, you get 15 to 30 minutes free to use, depending on which front desk person you get. I'm not sure what the reasoning is for that.

Our room was large for Rome and it had a patio and overlooked Vatican City, beautiful view at night time. The bathroom was kinda disgusting and old, similar to what the other reviews posted, this Courtyard needs renovation. Our shower curtain had blood stains on it and I was completely grossed out and was going to call them to change it the next morning except housekeeping had entered our room even though the 'Do no disturb' sign was on! Nice it was changed, but not so nice when I asked them to not come in while we were gone.

The hotel sends you to a little family restaurant a block away in a small strip mall but that wasn't open the night we came. We actually found a nice pizzeria that sells everything and at reasonable prices! If you turn right at the light up the hill from the hotel rather than left, go about 1 block you will see a small pizzeria. People are really nice and food was great!

As others have noted, this hotel is far from the city but train is easily accessible.
I would recommend this hotel if you are using points and for short stays.
