Nice hotel. Did not have any problems with the front-desk staff as indicated by other reviewers. Staff was helpful and courteous. Hotel is about a 15 Euro cab ride from most of the tourist attractions in the city. Restaurant for breakfast was pricey but very good. As indicated in other reviews there is a grocery store across the street from the train station, down a driveway to the left of the bank. We went to the "locals" tavern that the front desk recommends one night, the food was good and reasonably priced. They charge for wireless internet unless you are a Marriott gold or platinum member. We used the shuttle several times, at 3 Euros per person each way it was a good deal. The front desk has a free map with all of the attractions listed that is far more useful than the maps in the guide books that we purchased. We enjoyed good weather between Christmas and New Year's so we walked almost everywhere. If you are very comfortable with public transportation the subway/train system is fair. Do not expect the Washington DC Metro or the London Underground. The stations are filthy, the signage is not the best and the subway stops near tourist destinations have their share of pickpockets. The rooms at this hotel are huge by European standards. We tried the snacks at the bar, not great but seriously...it's bar food. Would stay again despite the distance from downtown.
