The hotel was located too far away from the city centre. You had to walk and then 2 busses or bus+subway. Especially in the evening, when fewer busses and metro were available, this was too much for us. The rooms were very small, no view (walls), the smell of cigarettes was still around and the towels in the bathroom had an awful chemical smell. The breakfast was poor and you had to be early to still have some. The pool is only available in july-august.
This hotel didn't live up to what I espected from a 4* hotel and was not up to NH standards.

Hotel is located in a quiet and green area about 2 km from Vatican City. Please be aware that it is located on a hill, so if you do not take a taxi, walking there can be quite tiring. There is an outdoor swimming pool, but it was closed in October.
Room has average size but it was ok, I can't complain about its cleanliness. Breakfast has quite limited choice of hot meals, but very good choice of pastries and sweets. To sum up - a good hotel for a reasonable price.

Stayed 3 nights as a pre cruise package.Arrived at the hotel early,10:00am on a Sunday after a flight from Boston. Asked if we could check in then and they did accomodate us so we could get a little sleep before the three couples coming after us arrived. Front desk couldn't have been more helpful.Most of our dealings were with Giuseppe Rattu who should be commended. Our room was on the 3rd floor away from most of the foot traffic and was very quiet.The room was small but was adequate for the 2 of us.Bed and furniture very comfortable.Agree carpeting and some lobby furniture was a bit tired.Breakfasts were good as was the one dinner we had.A 10-15 euro cab ride to the center.Would stay again and recommend to others.Nice to be out of the center after a day sightseeing.

LankyB - we agree with you - thoroughly enjoyed this hotel - 3-nite pre-cruise stay - a welcome quiet refuge after each day of sightseeing, crowds, and noises of the big city. We found the personnel friendly and helpful - and rooms clean and spacious. At breakfast - bacon was undercooked but were enough options to fill one heartily to take in the sights (and the walk to the Vatican) which we did the first day - after that cabbed for 7 Euros each way - that hill is a "killer" LOL. Had pre-arranged airport pick-up through hotel and after almost 16 hours in and out of airports and planes and security checkpoints it was the best
65 Euros ever spent! Lots of other pre-cruise guests - we formed a happy hour" group and met in the bar each evening to share our adventures and unwind. Would certainly stay at this hotel again.
