When we arrived in hotel , the man of reception gave us a room which was room for one night stand ( just for little time, not to stay) it was dirty, the blanket had a hole from cigarette and everything there were dirty, the bathroom, the tapet, the fridge was destroyed and was smelling.everything.when we demanded to change room because we did not like it the receptionist told us to tell the morning to the other receptionist lies, that the room is not quiet and has lot of voice. Also he told us that if we tell the truth tha the room is dirty, the receptionist will not change it. We were very nervous and we liked to go to an other hotel but we terrified not to charge twice for a room. The other morning we told to receptionist to give us an other room because it was not quiet and he gave us an other room to the third floor.this room was very good and very clean. The breakfast was very poor but good. The first room

“Good base for exploring Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2010

Stayed here for four nights, found it a good basic hotel, clean, friendly and a good base for getting around Rome, staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was a typical continental buffet, small bar and restaurant that never seemed to be open. Irish bar across the road was ok for a quiet drink, would choose this hotel again if I decided to go to Rome again.

“Not a 3 stars, more a 2 stars”

The reception looks nice, the person in charge when we arrived was perfect and showed us 2 rooms. We chose the one we prefered, ie, the one not overlooking the street because we were scared of the noise.

The rooms we had the choice of were small and the bathrooms were pretty basic and in the room we stayed, in need of some modernisation as the shower has seen better days. Quite a small bathroom, small room, nice TV, I was happy to have TV5, the French speaking channel.

The carpetted floor near our window was wet. Of course, we only realized this later. It didn't really matter but I wondered what had happened.

The breakfast wasn't very good. No appealing bread and no fresh croissants or petits pains au chocolat. I didn't know one could have a hot chocolate so I had one of the industrial croissants someone else called cornetto I think, and cornflakes in hot milk + water. There is no orange juice but orange squash, which I can't stand. When breakfast cost 11 euros, one should have proper orange juice and fresh croissant or other nice things.

The waitress in charge of breakfast was also making a lot of noise on both mornings dealing with plates and other glass things, not very relaxing. But she was very pleasant.

On the second night, we asked some questions to the man in reception, about a bus to Villa Borghese and something else. We really felt we were bothering him and that he couldn't wait for us to go and stop asking questions. He was an older guy to the one who was excellent on Friday night. The man at reception on Sunday afternoon (14/3) was lovely.

If you have the room 126, you will have noise from the reception room like next to it. I had to tell some French people off in the morning.

The positive thing is that the hotel is very near to great restaurants like Santopadre (book in advance). Another positive thing is that at least both reception men spoke French but were not keen on English (I'm French so I didn't mind but my boyfriend didn't understand).

The soundproofing of room 126 is really bad, we kept hearing the other room's water from the bathroom or man blowing his noise.

Shower: a bit small but very good power, the hot water came quickly. Nice big sink. One hair on my 'clean' towel. That is always a turn-off.

Don't expect to sleep beyond 8.30am. Bed confortable by the way.

“Good no-frills hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2009

We used the Hotel Priscilla as a place to sleep during our short break to Rome. We didn't need lots of facilities. The hotel is fairly central. (10 min walk from Termini, 10 min from Spanish Steps) The staff are friendly, and their English is probably good enough that you could stay here without knowing any Italian. Our room was clean, with a comfortable bed, and new windows which had very good soundproofing. (Very handy, because the traffic is really noisy, even late at night.) The breakfast was fine: cereal, croissants(cornetti), rolls, juice. The machine coffee is rotten, but the waitress will make a cappuccino on request, or bring hot water for tea. For dinner, the restaurant is O.K., if undistinguished; there is a better restaurant just a few metres away. I would be happy to stay here again when we come back to Rome.

“Wouldn't even give it a one star!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2009

We experienced a number of problems with our room at Hotel Priscilla. The air conditioning in our room was not working at all for one day (it was in August and the daily temps were over 40 degrees celsius) and this was extremely uncomfortable as we have 2 children. The staff could not care less. They stated that the people in our room prior to us had not complained and that the hotel was fully booked and we would not be able to change rooms. In addition to this our refrigerator was not working properly. We had gone to the supermarket and picked up some groceries like yogurt and cheese for the kids and they were about to spoil. Again the response to our complaint was that it was working properly. In addition to this there was no volume on the television for some channels. Our children were trying to watch cartoons and there was no volume on the channels that they wanted to watch. Again the staff insisted that everything was working fine. Please keep in mind that while were trying to resolve all of these issues we had wasted one day of our valuable vacation time. We were only in Rome for 3 nights and an entire day was wasted trying to have these problems resolved. On the final day we asked that we be allowed a late check out of an hour or two, however this request was refused. The staff could not care less as to how displeased we were and did nothing to try to rectify the situation. When we asked to speak with the owner or director of the hotel we were told they could not be contacted but that the director would arrive at the hotel between 1 and 2 p.m. on that day. We checked out of our room on time and left our luggage in your lobby which we trusted would be in safekeeping. We returned at around 2 p.m. only to be advised that the director was not coming in that afternoon and that she was never expected to come in that afternoon. Obviously we were told a lie just so that the employee of that morning could get us out of his hair. In addition to all of the above referenced problems we came to realize that some of our jackets which were in the outside pockets of our luggage were stolen during that time that they were in the lobby and under the so-called supervision of the employees. We e-mailed the owner about our complaints to which his reply was there were no problems with our room. We paid for an air conditioned room, with a working fridge and working television. We did not receive a room with air conditioning, working fridge or working television. We obviously did not get what we had paid for. The owner's response to our complaint was that he was sorry we didn't like the service.

We will definitely not be staying at this hotel again and the only recommendation that we will give about this hotel is that we recommend no one stay there.
