Conveniently located near the city centre, this hotel was based on a quiet street that is approx 10-15 minutes walk to main attractions. The hotel deserves credit where due as the staff here are genuinely kind and helpful. Nearby restaurants were average, the best food was served in the priscilla hotel ristorante itself and would urge everyone to visit as the prices you see are what you get. Unlike other restaurants in the area who include tax/service charges.
Staff- On arrival the young male at reception gave us a map and key pointed out all of the areas and routes to take on our trip. This was extremely helpful and we referred back to his information each day. Anything we needed throughout our stay he ensured we got it. Also, Andrea the restaurant waiter/bar person - lovely guy who takes on every possible role, and still ensured effective service throughout meal times. Made us feel very welcome & made time for nice chats.
Room - undoubtedly outdated yes! BUT for us ideal as we were only using the room as a stopping point to sleep and wash. Shower very powerful and hot. Bed sheets cleaned daily. Comfortable sleep. Very quiet.
Attractions - the list is endless and this is why are holiday was a very special experience. Day one we visited pantheon,, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps (amazing) and day two was spent in the Vatican city and grounds. We climbed to the top of sT peters basilica which resulted in an outstanding view of the whole of rome. Charge €5 to go in but was well worth it. 360 steps though so assess your fitness level before you start! Vatican museum was well worth a visit at €15 per person it seems expensive but Sistine chapel, michaelanglo and raffael artwork are once in a lifetime opportunities.
Transport - the hotel itself is about 40 mins transfer from ciampino airport. Travel on day one, we walked everywhere from 9-6 and managed to see almost everything. Day two we walked from hotel to republicca square which was at the bottom of the road virtually, then ended up taking the metro to Vatican. This is what I would reccomend doing as for €4 you can go on and off the metro as it stops by all major sights. Quick and easy.
Tips; due to snow some of the major sights were shut. Also, check opening times for all sights as it is not a given that they will be open as we found out.
Be aware of the Service charge at end of stay of €2 pp//pn at end of stay.
Overall I would reccommend this hotel for convenience and Value for money
