“Clean and comfortable”

I stayed in this hotel for one night at the end of a wonderful Trafalgar tour. It was clean, comfortable and well decorated. The water pressure in the bathroom was good. The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool. We were unable to figure out the heater and felt a little too warm while sleeping. I wish we had more time here. I wish I could go on my trip to Italy again!!!

“Villa Pamphili Hotel is excellent”

By all means stay in this hotel if you are in Rome. Though it is not in the middle of the tourist sections, it is very nice and has beautiful views! You can take a taxi from your hotel to the sites and you will be able to return to a relaxing night's sleep! I admit I did not think that when I first realized our Globus European Tapestry Tour was putting us there, but having been there I totally agree! But we were able to go see what we wanted and thoroughly enjoyed Rome! By the way, I would also highly recommend the Globus Tour we took!

good location in a quite green corner of city center.the hotel has excellent pool, tennis courts, gym and spa center .Staff is very nice and helpfull.
Room are large and clean with balcony, some furnitures and carpets look old and need a renew.
Breakfast is excellent. The hotel has an excellent bus shuttle service to the downtown ( stops at Piazza Risorgimento closed to St.Peter square) .

“Spartacus was outstanding.”

My partner and I celebrated a 50th Birthday by visiting Rome. Our stay at the AtaHotel Villa Pamphili was truly fantastic. After tiring, busy and loads of amazing days visiting the magnificent sites of Rome and the Vatican, it was a pleasure eating a few evening meals in the hotel restaurant. A very kind and helpful gentleman named Spartacus ensured everything was perfect. He is truly an outstanding team member, and a huge credit to the Villa Pamphili establishment. The staff in general were all very friendly, helpful and polite. There is a bus shuttle to the Vatican that is efficient, or one can simply use a taxi service which is an approx 20 minute ride to central Rome. If like us, peace, quiet and comfort is important, then this is the hotel for you. The rooms were clean and pleasant. We will stay here again.

“This hotel may have once been good but now it is not.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

We wre shown to a bedroom with a smashed bathroom door, dirty carpet. We asked for another room and were put into a smoking room although we had asked for no smoking and the shower and carpet was dirty. Finally we had enough and asked to see the manager. He was in Turnin we were told and a front desk man, very helpful, upgraded us to a larger room. However after 3 moves we were less than impressed with the soiled carpet and again dirty seal between bath and wall and the sink was not clean. We stuck it out as we were too tired to do anything more.

The breakfast was bleak, litte bits of cut sausage, scrambled egg that bears nothing to scrambled egg and the fattiest streak bacon ever although the coffee was first class. It was the same breakfast each morning. Dinner in the restaurant was buffet style, fillet steak was in a covered stainless steel container and had been for hours, we wouldn't eat there again.

On check out I made my comments clear to the under Manager, he was totally unhelpful and said that they didn't give free rooms!!! I tried to make him understand that I didn't want a free room, all I requested was a room that was as described on the net. We had no air conditioning as they had turned it off, in October, he said and he said they wouldn't turn it on just for 1 guest! It was hot in Rome, tee shirt weather. There was nothing in their publicity that said that the air conditioning would not be on. The pool was closed and a swim would have been lovely in such good weather. I consider the under manager was a disgrace to the hotel. I notice on our final bill he credited us with 20€, an absolute insult. His attitude was rude and dismissive. The hotel needs money spending on it and staff training needs to be implimented.

The corridors leading to the bedrooms were, in places, very soiled, especially in front of the lifts. All in all not a good experience, the hotel needs a lot of money spent on it and general maintenance needs to be done on a regular basis.

We would never stay there again even though we visit Rome occasionally.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the pool are quiet but personally I would try another 4 star hotel as this one...
