The Termini area is within 20-30 mins by foot to most major sites. The Hotel is 5 mins away by foot from the Termini bus hub and Metro stop. The rooms are on the smaller side but functional. They serve good Italian coffee at breakfast which goes a little beyond coffee and cornettos (pastries). It provides a computer to guests and offers excellent WiFi. In 2011, it is offering great off-season rates. In summary it was for us a great value for Rome.

We didn't have any major issues. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our double room on upper floors was reasonably nice and clean, except there was some mildew in the tile grout in the shower. The breakfast was ok too, but nothing fancy. The AC had a fixed setting and a slight musty smell, but not too bad. We would have preferred to open the window, but there were mosquitos outside. Overall, I think it was reasonable for around 100 euro/night.

The desk staff were fantastic. The location left something to be desired and our room was rather small. The bathroom and the bed were clean, but the room could have used a good wall scrubbing.

I booked the Montreal for its closeness to Termini, since this trip we had only one evening in Rome before a transatlantic flight and I wanted to be able to walk to and from the station. It is close, and the room we had was clean, so for a place just to sleep it was ok. Breakfast similarly was adequate. I can't imagine making it a base for exploring Rome, though. Too dark, no atmosphere (though the desk clerks were polite), and the wifi didn't work at all while we were there. Overall a disappointment.
