Although I had a reservation, upon arriving I was told that due to a storm the night before, my room was unavailable and they had made arrangements for me to stay at another hotel. Having had a similar experience with another Rome hotel a few years back I knew they simply had overbooked and were accommodating higher paying guests. Starting off any relationship a lie makes it hard to be objective but here goes. The hotel is the very definition of average, the room was a little dated but clean, the location was a 10-12 minute walk from two Metro Stations (I recommend Bernini rather than Spagna because while the entrance to Spagna is closer to the hotel, the distance to the actual trains is closer at Bernini), the breakfast is slightly less than what you get at most Rome hotels (scrambled eggs, ham, pastries, juice, yogurt, some fruit and cereals) but there wasn't a lot of seating. My interaction with the staff was limited but their level of service was uninspired (we asked for a nearby address and the woman looked on her computer but couldn't find anything but when we accessed the internet on our phone we found it within a minute, this same person wouldn't make a phone call to check on availability of some tickets). A computer terminal was available in the lobby for free but their wi-fi rates were outrageously expensive, I think it was $20 euros a day. So if you are looking at a hotel that is a couple of blocks from being a in a very good location, offers clean rooms and are not looking for much help from the staff, this may be the place for you.
