La Dolce Vita is evidently some kind of agency representing at least two different properties which are rented out on occasion to tourists. We stayed at the Via Baccina 92 location (I think there may be more than one room available at this address) for four nights at Christmas.
The owner, Leonardo, is a pilot who speaks excellent English, and was extremely friendly and helpful. I think there was some confusion about when he expected to be paid, in cash, which was a little embarrassing (I thought we were supposed to pay in cash at check-out - he was apparently expecting money up front, but I think the problem was he was going to Florence on the day after Christmas) - no big deal. They do not take credit cards.
On the plus side there is superb, free wi-fi and (at the time of our stay at least) free telephone service to the United States. Also, DVD players and two TVs, one in the bathroom (although we never used it). The bathroom features a jacuzzi tub in addition to the shower (none of us used the tub however).
We were a bit disappointed by the kitchen, which is a closet off the side of the balcony. The pigeons never really adjusted to our presence. We had hoped to economize by cooking some of our own carbonara once or twice but my wife found the "kitchen" disgusting. I did make some incredibly good coffee each morning on the stove, however.
Our bed was (just) good enough but our 21-year-old son was extremely uncomfortable with the two small beds put together for him, preferring to sleep in his sleeping bag in the middle of the two mattresses so as to avoid the springs. After four nights he commented that he might have been better off on the floor - there was also a futon that we probably should have set up for him instead. The room features a large hammock, which he enjoyed lounging in.
Lots of space is fun. The location is pretty good (it could be a lot worse) but it's not like staying opposite the Pantheon in Piazza della Rotunda (which we did once when the dollar and our personal economy was much stronger) so I can't really rave about it. I have no idea how someone would find this place by car without a GPS.
