“a pleasant staying at the hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2008

i stay 4 nights on the hotel with my friend.the position was excellent, walking distance to every tourist places, the outside building was old,but the hotel on the 3rd floor was clean, modern furnished, nice comfortable room19(no 31),nice modern clean bathroom, quiet from the street traffic for sleeping(because of the double glass windows).
The staff at reception was very polite, helpfull, especially the manager Mr Carlo.
i dont have any complain,i recommend to stay there, the room rates are moderate for Italy, next travel in Rome i will prefer it again.
The breakfast was nice,typical continental,croissant,fresh bread,butter,jam,cereals,orange juice,milk and coffees.

“Great Stay in Rome at the Everest 2”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2008

Pleasently suprised! as promised in the email 2 x exellent rooms were reserved . en-suite tastefully decorated as was the main room.our veiw out of the window of an old church on the via nationale was delightful and we were ideally positioned to explore rome.on arrival carlo provided maps and directions and made my famliy very welcome as did all the staff.rooms were clean and attended to daily.the continental breakfast had a good choice of pastries, had no access trouble with the lift as mentioned by another review. we all had a very pleasant stay at a hotel we found hard to fault.

“Luxurios quality in the heart of the city center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2008

This hotel is apparently an exclusive hotel in the center of Rome. It is nothing like we've experienced through all of our travels. From the map of Italy engraved in old brick to the arched ceilings made of genuine Italian stone, this place satisfied our every need. The rooms were spacious and the floors were lined with 18th century marble. We had this wonderful street view of a beautiful church where opera concerts are performed daily on one of the liveliest streets in Rome, yet our nights were as noise free as an internal view room. The designer was smart enough to install double windows to block out all of the bustling noise of one of the most energetic cities. The service is exceptional. The guy who owns the place owns other properties under the Matisse Properties logo. When we are in Rome again this is definitely the place we are going to stay. Beautiful and central within walking distance of practically everything. We recommend this place with our highest regard.

“A fair place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2006

If you are not planning on staying in your room all day and/ or coming back to your room early after work, then this may do ok. We went at the end of June 2006 thru first week of July. It was very hot in Rome. there were two adults and two adult children in a quad.
Good: it's very close to Termini so if you're planning on using the trains and buses, it's a good location. Also, it's great if you have to roll your suitcase around town to catch trains into Rome and out to other cities. There were lots of decent places to eat around and felt safe doing so. The staff was good and willing to help ( very little English so brush up on your travel phrases, it should work). Be careful accross the street from the station but there really was no crime. Just not the best of crowd- lots and lots of students from all over the world. You don't have any problems in getting to the hotel safely. The room was clean, including the bathroom and the beds were made. Bad: It's third floor up so get ready to climb but this is Italy ( not too different than New York's places!). There's a tiny elevator for one person and one suitcase. They were stingy with the air conditioning, it would be turned off late in the evening into the early morning but it was cold when we arrived from a full day of touring. The breakfast is also dry and small, so if breakfast is big part of your day or expect a full american breakfast, book somewhere else.
Overall, we were ok with this room since we never were in it for a long time other thant to clean up and sleep. There's no view. This is our first time in Italy and wanted safe, reasonably priced accommodation which we received. We could have done a lot worse

  • Disliked — No air conditioning and stingy breakfast

“Unnecessarily disappointing - avoid in summer heat!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2005

I had booked two rooms thru net 2 weeks in advance, we were me and my wife in one and our three adult children in another.

Upon arrival we were given one room that did not match our pre-booking, for one night. No compensation was offered.

On the next day we were shown a new room, matching our booking, and we took it - unfortunately, the previous customer still had her clothes in the closet!

We spent six nights when the summer heat was on, over 30 oC all the time. Great summer. However, the staff, which in the day time consisted of a nice young woman able to communicate somewhat in English, and in the night time of a man who could only Italian, had never been trained to use the remote control of the system. So, every night (every!) the air conditioning went off (probably because of the timer function!)! On three of these nights I woke up to wake up the night ward, who was sleeping happily in his separately air conditioned own room! Having repeatedly explained the problem to the ladies during the day time, the management (who that is, I still don´t know) did nothing to ease our problem.

Breakfast? - there was a cup of coffee and a croisant offered on the 3rd morning....

As an overall impresssion, the ladies tried their best, under the circumstances and the management was never seen. I left my business card with a question "how would you like to compensate us" in vain.

Positive - location is good. Shower ok. Clean room. But, surely there are better alternatives.

Stayed July 2005
