We enjoyed our stay at the Oxford hotel in Rome. Its location was close enough to all the historic sites but far enough away to be quiet. It was winter when we were there in December 2011 but the room was warm and clean and tidy. The staff at reception were helpful and spoke relatively good English so we had no trouble with language. The breakfast was great with all you require and very fresh. You can even boil eggs with toast which in Italy is not always available. It says its a four star which is about right but dont expect it to be like the big four star hotels. My husband & I actually preferred it the big hotels very cosy. There is internet access aswell which was handy even if it was a bit expenive. Beware if you are big as it has the smallest lift in the world!!

We stayed in the Oxford Hotel Rome, for 4 days (3 nights) between Christmas and the new year and had a very good time. The Hotel itself was very clean and tidy, the staff very pleasant and my concerns about the language were not necessary. Although I must say there was some debate about the beds, for some they were a bit hard. The location hotel itself was perhaps a little bit far out from most of the attractions, however it did not spoil the break.
The cost like most of Rome were a bit more than expected, but it did not spoil the break. It was our first experience of the city and one we hope to repeat one day.

Staff very helpful, especially Carlos and Franchesca. Bar quiet but again friendly. Room was
clean, tidy and in good order. Maids very efficient but unobtrusive. All in all, one hotel I wouldn't hesitate to recommend - one I was made to feel extremely comfortable in, and which I intend to return to next year.

Excellent location - hotel is about 15mins walk to Spanish Steps. Plenty of restaurants (nice choice with outside 'pods') to eat on Via Veneto which is about 10mins walk away. Hotel room was fine. A little dated, especially in bathroom and I would say is 3 star max. But room was spacious. Shower good. Bed comfortable. No tea/coffee making facilities. Ask for a room away from the road (if you don't like night time noise) as there are a lot of buses going down the adjacent street. Hotel restaurant was ok - can get better dining elsewhere closeby though. Breakfast was good - substantial and filled you up for the morning. If you get a good deal on this hotel then it is worth the stay. Repubblica and barberini metro stations are approx. 15mins walk.
