This is a lean , well managed city hotel. It is 4* in the way that many clean basic hotels are in Italian cities. It is not a big resort plush hotel . The staff are very friendly, helpful and pleasant. The room we had 116 is large overlooking the street . The bathroom is ensuite via a door up three marble steps , very weird but clean although very compact , so not good if you have mobility problems. yes you can hear the traffic but hey this is Rome not the beach. The hotel is warm ( we are here in January) so that's good, the beds are very very firm , hard but we slept very well
One thing I would say if you have any form of mobility issue ( I have arthritis in my spine and sacral joints) it is a long walk to the metro not just down the road it's around 7 blocks . Fine if you know and can pace your self . The Rome tour bus stop is about 600 meteres awaynot the 200 that the hotel will tell you. Again that's fine if you know. The resterant was shut whilst we were here, but breakfast was fine good choice and tasty lots of hot milk for great coffee.
It's very reasonably priced , yes it's a little tatty and faded , but it is warm safe and you are made to feel welcome . We had a good 3 night stay ,. Don't expect the ritz or the Sheraton , know you are going to a small 47 roomed Italian hotel in a huge city and enjoy
