Hotel Emmaus is almost a relic itself! Very old & tired but friendly and helpful staff and a location to die for. Walking distance to the heart of Rome and about 250 meters from St Peter's Square. Rooms are very old fashioned and basic at best, breakfast was surprisingly adequate and the kitchen staff would always provide a cup of coffee before an early morning tour, even before the kitchen was officially open for breakfast. Train station was close by and lots of shops and restaurants in the immediate area.

I was with a group that stayed there at the end of june. The location is perfect for the vatican and it's easy to get the metro to places like the colloseum. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff are very helpful. Would stay there again :)

If you want like to be in the center of everything and close to Vatican city, then this is the place. The room was spacious and good shower. A bit old, but being an old building it is to be expected. A bit noisy at night due to being so close to the city. Breakfast could use a lot of improvement, after eating breakfast one morning, we decided it was not worth waking up for. The staff were very helpful and friendly, however in order to get your room cleaned you had to be out of the room by atleast 1100. Lots of restaurants in the area. Internet was not free, but the price was reasonable, unlike other hotels I have been to. Overall, not a bad hotel.
