“hotel not in centre of rome”

The hotel was nice and presentable, room was not too bad-mini bar, heating, lcd tv(but not 1 english channel on the tv, so unless you speak itialian there's no point of watching it). We had no hot water the four days we stayed there which was quite annoying as it was -3 and snowing the whole time. Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is continental and seemed to be thrown together down stairs in a make do kitchen.
The hotel is not is the centre of rome and does not have any resturants around, just 'snack bars' where u can buy a slice of pizza, if you want a proper resturant meal you will have to travel into the city centre. To get to the centre of rome you have to walk 5mins to the bus stop and get a bus to the metro staion(tube) and then onwards to the centre which in all takes about an hour( make sure you buy a bus pass from a newsagents otherwise you cannot travel on the bus or metro, a 3 day tourist pass cost 11euros and you can travel any where you wish) but be sure to keep hold of your bags and wallets as there are many beggers and pickpockets on the metro and in the city

We had a really nice and pleasent stay at Aurora Garden Hotel. The room was fine,en-suite bathroom, mini fridge and lcd tv.The only thing about TV,there was no even one chanel in english! We had to watch movies in italian, did not have a clue what were they on about!
The breakfast was ok. The staff really helpful and nice!To the City Centre about 1 hour,to the Ciampino Airport about 1.45 minutes by public bus!

“Great hotel”

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. Every aspect was as all hotels should be. Everywhere was in a perfect level of decoration. Room was very comfortable and clean..
Breakfast was exceptional in a delightful breakfast room. Staff were very friendly and in particular the reception staff were friendly, helpful and were a pleasure to chat with. If you are considering staying in the centre of Rome you will not find one as good as this. We know because we have have been there in the past and are speaking from experience.
Transport into centre is convenient and easy and is covered by the 11 euro 3 day City pass.
Advantage is that you see the side of Rome as lived by the locals. Don't miss this one !

“Very comfortable stay! Does what it says on the tin!”

We have just come back from Rome. The hotel was very comfortable. We had rented a car as we wanted to be comfortable getting to and back from the hotel. We are used to travelling for some time to get to the city centre where we live so we kind of expected it after reading all the reviews. We would take the car to the main bus stop which the nice reception lady told us about ,took a day bus pass, park the car for free and then roam about Rome on the buses. We would come back late in the night to find the car and then drive back to the hotel. The tip about buying our own water bottles and shopping at Conad or Carrefour for the day's snacks was very good.We would have a lunch of takeway pizza or something similar and treat ourselves to a proper italian dinner most days.We also went to Tivoli on a day trip but don't go on a Monday as it is closed,as we found out! The breakfast was reasonable and what you would expect for the price. In all the hotel was more than what we expected for the price.Everyone was friendly and helpful not like the frightening people that some of the reviewers have suggested.Only thing was that the rooms were a bit chilly. Have a nice stay in GORGEOUS Rome!!!:))

“"THE BEST"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

I have just come home from Rome after a few days away to this wonderful and magical city.we stayed at this hotel and i can honestly say that myself and my wife have never been treated more courteously and with such good humour. As of some of the reviews that said that staff were impolite or rude i totally disagree they helped us every step of the way.To the people who said it was too far away from the city centre all i can say is no matter where you stay in Rome you have to travel to see the sights so an extra twenty minutes is nothing but a chance to rest your feet. Before we travelled we googled the location of the hotel and decided to get a private transfer to the hotel because we didnt want the trouble to negotiate Rome at night,we managed to get one for 45 euro which we were told was cheap from Fiumicino airport so look around for a good price. The room we stayed in was spotless and the breakfast was ample so i dont know what some people expect but i was more than pleased with it.So in review this hotel is great value for money so dont get put off by fearmongering that its too far away as its cheap by public transport and im already looking forward to our return to this hotel as we're missing it already, thanks to everyone at aurora garden hotel for a wonderful time and making it so memorable.A big hello to Alex, naughty boy, working on the sugar mama for you"laugh out loud",
