“Staff so rude.......”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Stayed here Oct 2011 with cosmos tour group but would never stay there again. While having breakfast with our tour group my 12 year old son dropped his scrambled eggs to the ground. Before he even had a chance to tell me a very rude waitress came over to him demanding why that had happened. We were so embarrassed. I speak Italian and could understand the staff of the hotel when they made fun of our American friends on our tour group. If you do happen to stay at this hotel there is a nice pizza bar down the road. They have nice pasta and pizza dishes, much better than the hotel. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere and has old rooms which smelt of smoke. We only stayed two nights but still couldn't wait to leave.

Dear Guest,

We regret for your negative experience and we really want to apologize for it.
I have informed the Restaurant Mgr. about the problems you have had at the breakfast time, usually we receive positive comment and compliments for the waitress who work at the restaurant, we apologize if you felt embarrassed in that occasion. We will investigate about that. We are sorry if you haven’t appreciated our cuisine. The Hotel location was already known before your arrival, and chosen for your group by Cosmos. Anyway we are in a residential area only 5 km to the Vatican (20 min by bus) and well connected by public transport and our shuttle bus.
All the rooms are no smoking so all the guest could have a good behaviour to follow the rules.
Best Regards

“A 2-3 stars hotels listed as 4 stars...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012
4
people found this review helpful

I have no idea how this hotels got a 4 stars rating. Not only that the rooms are old and in need of restoration but they are very poorly designed (the bathroom especially, if you are using the toilet you will have your feet under the sink and the shower cabin is sooo small that you will always touch the cold walls with your back - honestly speaking someone larger wouldn't even fit in that shower cabin). The walls are so thin that you can practically hear EVERYTHING what other people were talking / doing.
The door closing mechanisms (pretty unique nowadays) are really hard to use.
There were no carpets on the floor (but at least they provided slippers).
No tea / coffee making options (it was listed that in the Executive rooms you have that option!!??).
We only got plastic glasses in the day we checked in. They were picked up with the cleaning in the next day and they were NEVER replaced and there were no other glasses available in the room.
The breakfast is ok for 1-2 days but since you get the SAME food everyday (1 type of cheese, 1 type of ham, 1 type of salami = SAME type everyday) it gets very annoying. As a curiosity, even if you get some fruits for breakfast there are no vegetables at all (no mustard also even if you get hotdogs and fried bacon),
The hotel is pretty far (20 mins metro + 10 mins bus waiting + 10 mins bus ride) from center of Rome and pretty hard to find. So unless you plan to leave the hotel in the morning and come back at night it's a bad choice in this aspect too.
The staff was helpful and friendly, though,
Overall, a bad choice in all aspects. Maybe if you don't find anything else and you need a cheap room for a night it could work, but bring earplugs with you.

Dear Guest,
We are very sorry to read you comment and we really apologize for the inconvenience. You book for a Basic room, choosing the better price that we offer, this type of room is the most affordable(very very cheap for a 4 stars hotel) and that kind of rooms are located in the first floors and has simple fornitures, the shower has standard measures, so we are sorry that you find it so small. For all other requests, if you had asked to our Reception, they were be happy to help you. Coffee and Tea making facilities , carpet, electronic keys are included in the Executive Room, if you would like to give a second occasion we suggest you to book that category of room who probably fits more your needs.
About the Breakfast, each morning, we serve American Buffet Breakfast, and usually in many of the other 4 stars Hotel you can find only the Continental one, we try to give a various buffet for more different Countries but usually you will not find particular sauces as mustard in hotels in Italy, probably only in American Hotel chains.
The city center is 5 km far away from hotel and to go there we arrange also a Shuttle bus that picks you up from the Hotel and bring you directly into the City Center so maybe next time that you will came in Rome you can use our shuttle service. Anyway you have to consider that 30-40 minutes to go downtown is not so much in Rome but you will spend a lot less money in our hotel (green area without smog) than in downtown one!
We hope that you will give us another occasion.
Best Regards

“A pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

My sisters and I stayed on two occasions at the Pineta Palace, the first was part of a Cosmos Tour we were expecting 4 star and we were really disappointed as the hotel was in a suburb of Rome not walking distance it was serviced by bus and taxis anyway we were in the basic rooms and we were terribly disappointed. The rooms were old and we could hear pretty well everything that was going on in other rooms. The breakfast was good though. Anyway on our arrival back after our tour we still had 2 more nights there. Not wanting to stay in the same type of room we asked if we could upgrade into a superior room. We were introduced to "seventh heaven" there were one bedroom suites with Kingsize beds and a queen sized sofa, so we took 2 rooms we were 4 women travelling. The rooms were fANTASTIC and the bathrooms excellent. The upgrade was Euros60 per day per room so not too expensive.
Having the better rooms the hotel staff became very obliging and couldn't do enough for us.
The apparently are updating the hotel as time and money allows, but fore me 7th heaven was the way to go, we also had amazing views of Rome..

Room Tip: My ratings only apply to 7th heaven not the basic rooms which I would rate as poor to average.

“better than expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

Stayed here pre-Cosmos bus tour. We booked on-line well in advance and got a great rate!
We weren't expecting too much after reading the reviews on trip advisor, so we were pleasantly surprised with our accommodations! Our rooms were older, but clean. We all had balconies, but had to be careful not to shut the patio doors, as once the patio door closes behind you, you can't get back inside your room!! The doors only open from the inside. The included breakfast was great! Reception was friendly and very helpful.
We arrived at the hotel late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to find the lobby restaurant still open and willing to make all 6 of us pizzas! Very accommodating!
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Good hotel, but needs restauration.
The hotel is in a residencial neighbourhood, in a quiet place. Is far the metro statios. To get the metro first you have to get the bus.
You have pay tu use internet wi fi.
I don't recomend for tourists.

Dear Guest,
The Hotel is just 2 minutes walking to the bus stop who picks you up till the Metro Station Cornelia (4 stops-5 minutes), the Reception can provide for our guests the tickets for public transports , with one ticket you can take one bus and the subway , so the same ticket could be used for both.
The internet connection is included in the room rates, just with Classic and Superior Room, not with the Basic Room.
we wish you a nice day!
