“Absolutely loved this hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2009

We were part of a large group that occupied both the Ritz and the Regent. We had a great spacious room that was really clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful, the American breakfast was more than adequate, and the location of being close to a station but in a quiet area suited us. The three day metro/bus ticket was 11 euros which was good value and got us all around Rome. There were good local facilities although we only had one evening when we ate locally. I have seen negative comments about this hotel here and I can only say from my own experience it was absolutely perfect for our needs. The only downside is that there are no tea/coffee making facilities (in common with other hotels) but I had picked that up from this site so took a travel kettle and some coffee.

“Comfortable, good location, and great food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2009

I disagree with a lot of the negative reviews of this hotel. I stayed there for 2 nights at the beginning of a tour of Italy. The underground train stations were right down the street and we were in the city center within a few minutes. I thought the hotel felt unique and elegant with large hotel rooms by European standards. The hotel breakfasts were also quite exceptional!

“Dont stay here: lots of room break-ins”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2009

I stayed here for a little less than a week. Mine and my friends computer were both stolen from our rooms while we where out. The hotel said their insurance would cover and as soon as I got home I emailed the address they gave me. Almost a month has passed and I have yet to heard back from them.

To top it off, the last night I was there our key didn't work (this had happened to a number of friend's rooms also). When I arrived at the front desk they handed me a new key without asking for ID or any proof that this was my room number. This is crazy! since a number of rooms were just broken into!

“Mixed feelings...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2008

The Ritz left me with mixed feelings. When I checked in I was given a room in the Regent Hotel, which is next door and run by the same company. The room was not pleasant. Very especially, it had a shoddy window frame that didn't shut well and let in all the noise from the street below. After complaining I was given a better and cosier room in the Ritz itself. The hotel as a whole needs an "aggiornamento", and so does some of the staff. Although the Ritz is not in the centre you can easily reach Piazalle Flaminio and the Piaza del Populo by train (5 minutes) as there is a station (Euclide) 2 minutes from the hotel. In the neighborhood there is two or three good coffe shops and restaurants. Summing up: I believe that, with some work, you can find better in Rome for a similar fare.
