“Piazza Euclide - This is no Grand Hotel Ritz”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

Cesar Ritz would be turning over in his grave if he stayed at ths "Ritz". It is also no Grand Hotel in the French tradition. Be suspicious of any Italian hotel or merchandiser which plagiarizes a name - witness "Speado" which is "Speedo" in Italian. Judging by the inferior quality of this hotel, it is certainly not what the name implies. Caveat emptor. The rooms are tiny, the service is lousy, and the prices are astronomical. Why stay at a hotel far from the centro storico. There is a good bar/cafe on Piazza Euclide but that is about it. Save your money and find a pensione closer to the Piazza Venezia. Avoid booking this hotel at all costs.

Room Tip: every room is just as bad as the other

“it was ok...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

i was here in May 2011. the hotel is clean, although the room is not too big. in the room you have TV & internet (also in the lobby) ..but you have to pay :(.
near the hotel there is only one restaurant (good food)...but ...if you don't eat in the city.... you will starve until morning (the restaurant closes pretty early). after 10min walk you can find a carrefour.
near the hotel you have the train station Euclide, from where you can take the subway - station Flaminio- to every direction:
-from Flaminio station is 5 min walk to Piazza del Popolo and Via del Corso (where you have the shopping area, restaurants and access to a lot of spots to visit) - check you map
- from Flaminio you can take the subway to Vatican (2 stations) ...or you can walk along the water (is much nicer and great opportunities for pictures).... enjoy

“Not up to expectations .Services differed from advertised.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

Could be cosy if staff was more courteous to people who didnt speak anything but English.Needs to represent the service available ensuite and not say it is when its not especially since it was prepaid. This caught them off guard as I was told to speak to my agent when in fact I was the agent. So this is the brush off that a client could get..Great restaurant two doors down for other meals since breakfast was a cattle call....
Some staff was openly rude to the clients.Pity since its a great location that gets a lot of people from everywhere...even the .train station around the corner of the next street. Advertised airport transportation is by taxi that can be arranged at front desk.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking street ......

“Avoid at all cost!! Sub par hotel, Customer service is criminal.”

My wife and I stayed here from June 6-12/2011 as part of a group attending a Medical congress in Rome. Congress payed for the first 5 days, I payed for the weekend.
Trouble started as soon as we arrived as our reservation, as well as others from the group was not found. they seem not to have a working system other that papers scattered all over the front desk, very disorganized. and this meant wasted time for everybody.
We would have changed hotel on the spot, but it was payed for so we were stuck here. So we tried to argue with the staff, and see if we could get their help on the room issue, NO!, we can't, we don't know, talk to the manager (who conveniently was never there)...I even got a "Sir, shut up" from one of the front desk employees.
This went on daly, as we kept on trying to get an answer from anybody, no luck.
When we changed rooms (required because of the 2 different reservations explained at the beginning), they gave us a Junior suite, apparently as a compliment for our troubles......needless to say I got charged for the upgrade on my check-out, no explanation, just pay or we call the police (literally), and again no one could get hold of the manager.
I am waiting for my credit card bill, as I would not be surprised to find further charges made without my authorization....
As for the rooms: We could not be more disappointed: seriously out dated, smelly, dark and I suspect not as clean as it should be.
Cable was bad, wireless cost 8 euro, breakfast was well below par, safe did not work, and the bathroom door knob was broken and I got locked in for 1/2 an hour until my wife came back from the lobby. I complained and got an empty look from the desk clerk.

I travel frequently, and try to be realistic as to what i get vs what I pay for, and I must say I have rarely felt so disappointed and cheated as I was during my unfortunate stay here.
The flaws of the place could have been overlooked if I had gotten a decent treatment from the hotel's staff, but the Horrifying service is what led me to write this review, so maybe others will be spared of the terrible experience.

“typical Rome hotel for group travel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2011

I stayed here with a school group for a couple of nights, and compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Rome, this one was fine. The bathroom was spacious enough, and the room was typical in size for four-star hotels in Rome. The air-conditioning worked well and stayed on all night. The food in the restaurant was good, and the staff was quick and courteous. Just around the corner is the Euclide station (undergroun) for the Roma-Viterbo train, so we were just one stop from the Flaminio station of Metro Line A.
