“Decent hotel near the train station.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

My wife and I stayed here on two occasions during our recent trip to Italy. The location is very convenient to the main train station. In fact we just walked there dragging our numerous suitcases. You can reach some of the attractions in the hisorical district with a little walking (we walked back from the Spanish Steps as well as Campo Fiornian). It is not a bad hotel, just that some of the rooms are old and in need of upgrade. The first visit we had a recently renovated room and it was a solid three star room. The second visit we had an older, smaller room, but it served the purpose of an overnight stay before heading home. Breakfast are not great, corn flakes, stale cheese, baloney, and no eggs. Coffee was good and plentiful though. All the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We left our key in the door by mistake one evening, returning many hours later and found nothing disturbed. A safe, solid two-three star hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the recently renovated rooms.

“bad bed, dirty bathroom, crack floor & dirty, tiny tv”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

We stayed in this hotel recently. The location is good as it is near the subway, train and bus stations. However, it is not a 3 stars hotel per its website or per hotel.com rating. It is a 2 or 1 stars per north america hotel ratings or at least based on numerous north american and asian hotels I stayed in past 30 yrs. Reasons include: very uncomfortable sleep with a thin & old matress (about 4 inches thick) on horizontal springs sagging in the middle and we were told that all the beds in the hotels are like that when we asked for another bed or room; tiny tv; cracked bathroom floor; no face towel; no shower curtain; and dirty towel not picked up and replaced. We defintely do not recommend this hotel.

“Tired but Clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

We needed a hotel for one night on short notice, and Nizza was available, at a good price, one block from the Termini train station. The staff was very helpful (spoke excellent English), the hotel and room were clean ( with one exception). They provided a continental breakfast 7-9 am. The room was spacious, had an older TV, a bar, a large chair, and a large bed. The door locks are primitive and awkward. The ceramic bathroom had a tub but no shower, lighting was dim, and the floor looked like it needed a good scrubbing. This was once an elegant hotel, but it appeared tired. It is decorated with modern sculptures throughout -- an odd choice. The neighborhood was good. They had wi-fi, but you have to go to a nearby internet cafe if you have no computer. Overall, I would stay there again, simply because of the cost and convenience to the train station.

“Worst Hotel Ever!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

I've learnt my lesson. I should've checked the reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor before booking.

This was the worst hotel (if you can even call it a hotel) that I've stayed in all my travels. The room was old, there were stains on the wall, our bed covers had cigarette burn holes on them, the bath doesn't drain properly, the staff were rude and unhelpful, and the list goes on. I just felt so uncomfortable in there that I had trouble sleeping.

The only saving grace of this hotel is that it's close to Termini station.

My suggestion is that you pay a little more and stay at all the other and better choices nearby. This hotel has given me such a bad taste of Rome.

You've been warned!!

“Good for the value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We stayed in Rome for 2 days and Hotel Nizza was very affordable and in a very convenient location. The room was clean but there was some hair on the sheets so we requested new sheets and they gave us immediately. I didn't like that every time we were going out we had to give our room key at the reception. Overall it was a good choice.
