“wonderfull city, very nice hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2011

We went to Rome for sight-seeing and it was great.
We had excellent weather, very nice hotel near the central station Termini.
We walked to the station and then took bus 64, wich crosses the whole town,
final destination the Vatican and in between you could go out and walk to
all the other highlights of Rome.
Nice hotel, nice people and very helpfull receptionist, i would defenitly go back
cause of the good rates they have,
Sandra the Netherlands.

“Very nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2011

I went to Rome for the first time in January 2011 (more exactly 18-21 January) and I choose Galileo Hotel for accommodation. The hotel was very very clean, the reception staff very friendly and attentive, the maid the same (Elena, third floor). I am sorry that I forgot the romanian front desk boy name but he was lovely.

Breakfast was good but the coffee was terrible.

Try this hotel, we will not be sorry!

“Quality hotel with reasonable prize”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2010

We expected something less fancy, as the prize was so reasonable, but we discovered high quality small family hotel. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean, beds were nice and the towels were white and soft. And we even had a small balcony! Very charming! Breakfast was small, but as I said, what can you expect if you are budget traveller. It was included and staff was smily and coffee was fresh and there was plenty of choises anyway. Metro was near, railwaystation was near, so the location was perfect.

Pieni perhehotelli.

“High standard accomodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2010

We stayed here for 4 nights, and were quite impressed. The staff were certainly friendly and check in was trouble free, including the compulsory form to register foreigners with the local Police. The hotel may provide a wifi service, but there may be a cost.
The room was small but acceptable, and the beds were nice and firm. Clean bedding and immaculate bright decor - including the bathroom - made for a great room. Sadly, there was no tea/coffee making facility which would have made a perfect room. Rooms and corridors were carpeted which reduced noise from other guests.
Continental breakfast was varied and included cereal (budget branding I fear), bread, yoghurts, fruit (prunes etc), pastries, nutella spread, meats and cheeses. The coffee machine made warm coffees, but they were tasty!
Rooms 106, 107 and 108 back out onto the small courtyard so be aware if you don't like the smokers!
Location - 5-10 mins walk from Termini. Don't panic by jumping in the first taxi. It really is easy to walk to. And to gain access, you have to walk up a driveway which you think is for the carpark....it is, but the entrance is on the left.
Being near the metro means you can move quickly to the sites. Use the S.I.T bus shuttle service on the Via Marsala to get back to the airport - 8 euros each.
Research affordable restaurants before you go. Pricing is extortionate in Rome for what you get. There are McDonalds abound if you're desperate and can get a Big Mac meal for 6.50. There's a Hard Rock Cafe at the Via Vittorio Veneto, near the Spagna metro station if you fancy a hearty burger and fries for 15 euros!! Americano coffees are only 2 euros though!
The La Cucina Nazionale restaurant on Via Nazionale also provides affordable offers.
A supermarket was nearby too though it was expensive compared with UK stores. But you can still pick up a large bottle of fizzy drink/soda for 1 euro.
In conclusion, a well specified hotel in a great location, but make sure you know where to eat and drink cheaply!

“Too Small!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2010

Glad we were only in this hotel for a few hours. While the staff we encountered were very kind, that was all I have to say good about this hotel. The room was smaller than the hotel rooms in Japan. You could barely turn around or even bend over to get into your suitcase! Also, they say the have wi-fi. They do, if you are willing to wait to get information for 5 minutes or more. Plus, it was not near anything you really want to see.
